Bottega Veneta‘s Summer 2024 campaign celebrates the art of travel, both through the physical world and within the boundless dimensions of personal creativity. Under the visionary guidance of Matthieu Blazy, this collection emerges as a sartorial exploration that draws its essence from diverse global landscapes, transcending from the serene beauty of Italy to the far corners of the globe. This season, Bottega Veneta invites us on a journey that is not just about fashion but a profound expedition into the myriad possibilities of self-expression and imaginative flight.

The Summer 2024 collection is a vibrant mosaic of designs that revel in the joy of dressing. It is an ode to the freedom of being, allowing one to seamlessly transition between roles and fantasies through an eclectic wardrobe that ranges from refined commuter suits to playful knitted swimwear, from majestic fringed coats to exuberant pom-pom adorned dresses. Blazy’s creations serve as a passport to an adventurous exploration of identity, urging us to delve into the pleasures of dressing up as a form of travel in its own right—across both the tangible landscapes of our world and the intangible vistas of our dreams.

The spirit and essence of this collection are vividly brought to life in the Spring Summer 2024 campaign, masterfully captured by the lens of Alec Soth, a distinguished Magnum photographer. The campaign is set against the dynamic and whimsical playgrounds of Tokyo, each frame bursting with energy, imagination, and a palpable sense of play. Through Soth’s expert eye, these playgrounds become symbolic landscapes that reflect the boundless creativity and whimsicality of Blazy’s vision for Bottega Veneta.

Matthieu Blazy reflects on the concept of the playground as a metaphor for freedom, joy, and creative exploration—a space where one can invent and embark on personal adventures, embracing risks and discovering oneself anew. Alec Soth, in his photographic narrative, mirrors this philosophy, capturing the dual essence of Blazy’s work: a deeply rooted craftsmanship that tantalizes the senses, juxtaposed with the ethereal quality of dreams. Soth’s aim was to infuse his imagery with the playful, colorful spontaneity that is emblematic of Blazy’s collection for Bottega Veneta.
