The global release of Sacai’s second collaborative collection Carhartt WIP is scheduled for February 22nd. The exclusive hybrid silhouette of the 18-piece collection deconstructs and reimagines a series of signature work-inspired items featuring a bonding technique with the iconic canvas fabric of Carhartt WIP and the wool-blend suiting fabric of Sacai. The bonded fabrics feature “inside-out” appearances, in which the duck fabric, which would ordinarily be on the inside, is intentionally exposed. The hybrid aesthetic of sacai is manifested through the amalgamation of various fabric tones, complemented by understated details including pocket details, piping, and triple stitching.
Additionally, the assortment integrates distinctive textiles and elements from both brands. The reversible Duck Coat is a collaboration between two Carhartt WIP signature styles—the iconic Siberian and the Chore Coat—which are both two-way-to-wear. Additionally, it features women’s jackets that adhere to sacai’s standard design by incorporating canvas fabric.
The ghettotech ensemble HiTech, based in Detroit, and the ethereal dream pop-sounding musician and model Soo Joo Park are featured in the accompanying campaign. The images of Soo Joo Park were styled by Karl Templer and captured by Stas Komarovski.
The sacai x Carhartt WIP collaboration will make its global debut on February 22 at select sacai stores and retailers. Additionally, Carhartt WIP and Sacai will offer the collection on their respective online stores.
