Ziggy Chen, unveiled his latest collection during the Paris Fashion Week. Titled “Decadentiment,” this FW24 collection packs poetics and meaning into every look.
“Decadentiment” is a play on words, merging “Sentiment” and “Decadence” which, far from negative connotations, in Chen’s case is a celebration of nature intertwined with urban landscapes.‘Visions of green vines climbing up damp bricks, moss-covered walls, and white facades gradually peel away after being washed by the autumn rain, silently releasing energy in their secluded corner of the world.’ shares Ziggy Chen press team.
The color palette of “Decadentiment” reflects this fusion, with hues of moss green, intense lime, grey-blue, and red dominating the collection. Silhouettes reminiscent of pedestrians navigating city streets are expertly crafted, with coats billowing in the wind and a nostalgic atmosphere of the 80s, with influences from military uniforms and Southeast Asian accents. Rich fabrics such as wool, cotton, and linen form the foundation of the collection, complemented by substantial knit cotton, denim, corduroy, and velvet.
