The upcoming release of the Nike SB Dunk Low x Futura Laboratories is an exciting collaboration that continues the influence of New York City’s artistic legend, Leonard McGurr, known widely as Futura. With a career that spans decades, Futura is celebrated for his unique approach to street art, characterized by abstract designs and vibrant use of color, which originated from his graffiti days on NYC subway cars.
This special-edition Dunk Low is combining Futura Laboratories, Futura’s commercial product brand and design studio, and Nike’s skateboarding division. The collaboration marks a return to Nike’s tradition of partnering with iconic artists to reinvent their classic silhouettes.
The design of the Futura Dunks features a bleached canvas backdrop with colorful overlays, showing distinctive style of Futura’s artwork, as well as puff print details, custom tongue labels, and insole art.
