PUMA is revitalizing its classic Easy Rider sneakers, transforming this vintage running silhouette into streetwear. Originally launched in 1977 during the jogging boom, the Easy Rider was a groundbreaking innovation in athletic footwear, known for its shock-absorbing outsole developed by Armin Dassler, the son of PUMA founder Rudolf Dassler. Its unique, outdoor-specific sole design quickly became popular across Europe and was later customized for the American market.

Over the years, the Easy Rider gained cultural significance beyond the tracks. By the late 20th century, it was embraced by football casuals and became a staple in terrace culture, showing its versatility and broad appeal.
In 2024, PUMA introduces the Easy Rider Vintage as part of its new “Rewrite the Classics” series. This series aims to celebrate and refresh PUMA’s classic designs for todays tastes, under the theme “Forever Never Stays the Same.” The updated Easy Rider Vintage retains its heritage but comes in new, clean colorways like Archive Green, Royal Blue, and PUMA Red, featuring fine mesh and suede materials complemented by a contrasting white Formstrip.
The launch is supported by visuals set in modern cityscapes, emphasizing the sneaker’s transition from track footwear to a trendy urban staple. This reinterpretation invites a new generation to experience and enjoy a classic.
