Building on concepts first introduced in her Runway Collection, Beckham extends this idea to the occasion wardrobe, emphasizing the effortless elegance intrinsic to her brand. This collection celebrates the intricate construction of clothes that are easy to wear, transforming the act of dressing into a ceremonial experience.
The collection’s centerpiece is the grain de poudre tuxedo, epitomizing the black-tie aesthetic of ‘the handsome woman.’ This tuxedo features a fitted silhouette with square shoulders and satin shawl lapels, paired with low-cut, straight-leg trousers that sport an extended satin waistband. The shawl lapel motif is also present in a floor-length grey wool coat. Adaptations of the gentleman’s smoking jacket appear in oversized tailored volumes, softly belted at the waist, and paired with voluminous double-pleat trousers. A standout piece is the tuxedo combinaison, a combination of high-waisted satin-striped trousers and a brassiere, redefining the dinner suit for women.
