The AMBUSH® Spring-Summer 2025 collection, unveiled by designer Yoon Ahn, is a journey through the intersection of vintage, sportswear, and avant-garde fashion. Inspired by the eclectic mix of an art class filled with misfits, Ahn has created a collection that celebrates a collision of contrasts. The collection captures the essence of growing up, merging refined Japanese fabrics with a riot of ribbons, colors, and cuteness, symbolizing the brand’s unique craft collage. This season, AMBUSH® explores the tension between newfound maturity and lingering teenage naivety, resulting in a vibrant, wardrobe that defies conventional norms.

A standout feature of the collection is the reimagining of classic checks into cropped tailoring for women. The black and grey plaid tailored jacket, ending just above the hips, paired with a matching mini kilt and white shirt, exemplifies Ahn’s exploration of uniforms and their disruption. The maroon and black bouclé tweed mini skirt suit, adorned with smashed vintage buttons, evokes a sense of history, as if pulled from a hidden wardrobe. Complementing these looks, a dusty pink wool waistcoat with matching drawstring trousers and faux-boxer waistband adds a playful yet sophisticated touch. Kilts and sports shorts combined with baby varsity tees further illustrate the collection’s blend of athleticism and elegance.

Romantic and whimsical elements are delicately incorporated throughout the collection. A white strappy top fastened with ribbons, a pale blue blouse, and black shirt adorned with ribbons at the neck showcase a tender, ethereal quality. Black lace capri pants tied with ribbons at the knee, paired with a work jacket and mini pouffe skirt, give the impression of an AMBUSH® girl transitioning from college to an after-school job. This mix of practicality and fantasy reflects the brand’s ability to blend everyday wear with dreamlike elements.

As the collection unfolds, increasingly unorthodox designs emerge. Red and white gingham tees and trousers paired with tweed jackets or knitted mohawk balaclavas that explode into 3-D flowers present a striking visual contrast. A ruched and beribboned white skirt, prim boxy jacket, and maroon bomber jacket paired with an elegant grey plaid dress with a white ruched bust display Ahn’s mastery in blending disparate elements. The 3-D pink fabric flowers transformed into crop tops and mini skirts, worn with faux fur shrugs or balaclavas, add an element of playful unpredictability to the collection.
AMBUSH® menswear continues the theme of high and low fashion fusion. Worn-out canvas shorts paired with sharp rugby shirts featuring graphic designs reminiscent of zines or gig flyers bring a sense of rebellious nostalgia. The grey plaid suit reappears, this time with a knee-length kilt and accessorized with a bejeweled cowboy belt and balaclava, merging sophistication with punk aesthetics. Bouclé tweed in jet black paired with matching kilts, and blue shirts with knitted argyle front panels, add a touch of heritage to contemporary styles. Denim pieces with double knee and riveted waistbands, worn with boxy sports jackets, underscore the collection’s workwear inspiration.

The collection’s accessories further enhance its eclectic charm. Jewelry, particularly pearls, plays a significant role, appearing in various forms from flower necklaces to heart-shaped hairclips, earrings, rings, and multi-stringed chokers. This mix of pearls with padlocks from previous seasons creates a compelling blend of hard and soft elements. Sunglasses, ranging from wide pastel-rimmed visors to rimless pink and black lenses adorned with piercings, and belts with pearl chains or the cursive AMBUSH® logo, complete the nostalgic yet forward-thinking aesthetic. AMBUSH® Spring-Summer 2025 collection captures a golden hour of fashion, offering pieces that are both irresistibly cute and highly collectible.
