GR10K‘s Spring Summer 2025 collection, “Nine Pounds of Dead Landscape,” debuted at Milan Fashion Week through a unique performance titled “Stringent Manners.” Founded by Anna Grassi, GR10K draws from personal experiences with military and protective garments to create a forward-looking and unconventional fashion narrative. This season, GR10K continues its tradition of avoiding mass production, instead offering a raw and culturally significant reflection on contemporary outposts and rural garments. The collection is a chaotic conglomerate of ideas, using nature as both a decorative concept and an aesthetic commodity.

The collection is designed with inspiration from the backstage footage of field recording director James Benning’s movies, which statically depict factories, taxidermy, and anti-horizons. SS25 addresses the impact of advanced technology on natural landscapes, merging standard items with standalone pieces and collection sub-layers. This approach results in a material translation of the desire to capture the deadly shades of near-to-death flowers. Rural garments have been reimagined using innovative materials like paper-touch poplin, hyper-light membranes, textured technical jerseys, and peach-skin fleeces. Knitwear is presented in high-density cotton waffle knits and UHMWPE yarn, while mud-proof and waterproof duster coats reflect the clash between modern technology and 1950s shapes.

GR10K’s SS25 collection also features its first eyewear products, developed in partnership with Factory 900. This collaboration blends artisanal craftsmanship with advanced technology, resulting in performance-ready ergonomic eyewear available in two shapes and two colorways. Additionally, GR10K has collaborated with DEEP, an ecological organization, to create bespoke equipment for ongoing fieldwork missions, expanding perspectives beyond metropolitan norms.

Artistic collaboration has always been a key aspect of GR10K’s identity. For SS25, the brand partnered with visual artist Matilde Solbiati, known for her unconventional collage and photographic distortion techniques. Solbiati’s work on standardizing picturesque details and revisiting outdated natural representations has resulted in a set of four scarves titled ‘Rural Scanning’ and limited edition cameo pins.

GR10K showed SS25 with its first live presentation, “Stringent Manners,” which reflects on experimental music and the political spirit of post-war contemporary composition. This four-hour tuning session of string instruments will follow no rule of engagement other than dissonance. The event took place on June 14th at Auditorium San Fedele, a prestigious venue known for its technologically advanced space and annual program featuring international electronic experimentation.
