For the Pre-Spring 2025 collection, Tod’s creative director Matteo Tamburini continues his exploration of the Italian lifestyle with a focus on subtraction rather than addition. This approach highlights the quality of materials and craftsmanship, leading to the creation of a contemporary wardrobe centered on the codes of formal style. The result is a timeless collection of garments and accessories designed to be worn and lived in.
The collection places a strong emphasis on materials, appealing to both the eyes and the touch. Leather, Tod’s signature material, becomes fabric in this line. The most delicate nappa leather is used to design essential silhouettes, while suede is crafted to feel like cashmere. Key pieces include a wool gabardine trench with leather details, an oversized coat in bonded canvas with thermo-sealing, and an Over Shirt in soft Pashmy suede. These items showcase a research project on the finest materials and the most sophisticated techniques from Italian artisanal tradition and experience.
The color palette for the collection features earthy tones, with warm and natural hues ranging from burnt to ivory. Accents of vibrant shades, including red and sunny yellow, appear on the accessories, which remain the protagonists of the wardrobe. This thoughtful use of color enhances the timeless quality of the collection, ensuring each piece is both modern and enduring.
Iconic Tod’s bags receive new interpretations in this collection. The Di Bag Folio features stitching that simulates chromatic lines, while the Di Bag Swing gains new dimensions while maintaining its proportions. The T Timeless bag sees leather transformed into canvas, decorated with symmetrical perforations that give it a light and summery touch, even in the total black version. These updates continue Tod’s tradition of blending innovation with classic design.
Footwear remains a key focus for Tod’s, with the Gommino being the absolute protagonist. This iconic shoe is reimagined in ostrich leather with a thin metal buckle and as a mule for a relaxed feeling. The collection also includes flat sandals inspired by menswear, featuring either a band or a double buckle. For a more feminine and sophisticated option, the high heel sandal is wrapped in soft nubuck.
The Tod’s Pre-Spring 2025 collection will be available from November 2024 in Tod’s boutiques worldwide and online.
