Fashion house Kith has joined forces with sportswear brand New Balance to unveil reimagined versions of the MS 1300 and MT 580 sneakers. This exclusive collaboration introduces two fresh colorways that draw inspiration from the coastal and architectural vibes of the Malibu location.

These specially designed models, the MS 1300 and MT 580, are crafted to merge high-quality materials with performance technologies, showcasing a harmony of form and function. The uppers are constructed from durable canvas which lends a robust yet breathable quality, ideal for the temperate Malibu climate. Complementing this are plush suede overlays that add a touch of luxury and tactile contrast, while leather accents further elevate the overall sophistication of the sneakers.
The MS 1300 is particularly notable for its advanced sole technologies. It incorporates New Balance’s ENCAP midsole, which combines lightweight foam with a durable polyurethane rim to deliver all-day support and maximum durability. Additionally, the ABZORB cushioning in the midsole absorbs impact through a combination of cushioning and compression resistance, which ideally suits the active lifestyle endorsed by Kith. This model is finished with a Vibram outsole, renowned for its exceptional grip and wear resistance, making it suitable for diverse terrains, from city pavements to coastal paths.
Conversely, the MT 580 features a blend of ABZORB and C-CAP technologies in its midsole. The ABZORB component provides superb comfort and shock absorption, while the C-CAP adds a core layer of cushioning to offer enhanced support throughout the day. The design stays true to its roots with the classic ‘N’ logo embossed on the lateral sides and New Balance embroidery at the heel, affirming the brand’s legacy within these modern adaptations.
Both models sport distinct branding on the tongue, showcasing their respective ‘1300’ and ‘580’ identifiers, which highlight their unique design elements and also serve as a nod to their heritage in the New Balance portfolio.
Set for an exclusive release on July 4th, the Kith for New Balance MS 1300 and MT 580 will be available at the grand opening of Kith Malibu, as well as online through Kith’s websites and the Kith App. This collaboration highlights the synergy between Kith’s innovative design philosophy and New Balance’s commitment to quality and performance.
