Petra Collins relaunches her iconic line, ‘I’m Sorry by Petra Collins,’ exclusively on SSENSE. This reimagined collection, brought to life through a collaboration with British-American designer Mimi Wade, showcases a harmonious blend of old Hollywood glamor and late ’90s nostalgia. Captured by Richard Kern, the campaign features musician Addison Rae, adding a contemporary touch to this eclectic a line.

The collection’s first drop sees Mimi Wade infusing her distinct aesthetic into ‘I’m Sorry.‘ Wade’s design ethos, characterized by a mix of vintage charm and playful femininity, perfectly complements the quirky spirit of the collection. Each piece evokes the sunny vibes of Los Angeles and nostalgic summer getaways. Highlights include a baby tee adorned with Wade’s mermaid illustrations and a cheerleader-inspired halter neck dress featuring her signature lace and velvet ribbon.

Among the standout pieces, a wedding dress reimagined in white satin, lace, and velvet ribbon epitomizes Wade’s ability to merge coquette-ish charm with ‘I’m Sorry’s’ quirky updates. Additionally, Wade’s iconic cat hat is reinvented in metallic leather, making a bold statement. The collection also boasts collaborative designs such as a leather bikini top and hot pants set, a trompe l’oeil dress on a cotton base, and a beauty pageant-inspired dress in cotton gauze with crystal embellishments and a detachable sash that reads “I’m Sorry.”

Expanding the collection’s appeal, Collins partnered with jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino to create an array of accessories that feel like irreverent souvenirs. These pieces narrate stories of impromptu beach vacations and candy-colored sunset weddings. The jewelry line includes mismatched earrings, a “Miss I’m Sorry” cameo crown with a matching wedding ring, and necklaces adorned with tropical neon charms. Each piece captures the essence of spontaneous summer fun.

An exclusive re-issue of the ‘String Piece #1’ handbag by cult designers Antoni & Alison further elevates the collection. Originally part of their ‘New Restoration Works‘ Spring/Summer 2006 collection, this handbag returns in a limited run of 300 signed and dated pieces. Its inclusion serves as a nod to fashion history while offering a unique, collectible item for fans.

Looking ahead, the excitement surrounding ‘I’m Sorry‘ continues with two more drops planned for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. Designer Jenny Fax is already confirmed as the next collaborative partner, promising to bring her innovative touch to the evolving narrative of ‘I’m Sorry.’ With prices ranging from €80 to €450 (£65 to £425), the collection is accessible on ssense.com and the SSENSE mobile app, inviting fashion enthusiasts to explore this creative fusion.
