The Fall Winter 2024 advertising campaign by Italian luxury house Prada embodies the brand’s core principle of dialogue and exchange. This campaign, crafted under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, explores the essence of honest human interaction, which is the cornerstone of Prada’s fashion expression. Each Prada collection emerges from a dialogue, reflecting contrasting ideas and viewpoints, both in its design and its interaction with the audience. This ideology extends to the campaign’s visual narrative, capturing the essence of the present moment.

Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, the campaign features a stellar cast of actors including Harris Dickinson, Damson Idris, Yili Ma, Hunter Schafer, and Letitia Wright. These actors are depicted in candid, unrehearsed moments of interaction, either face-to-face or through phone conversations. The imagery bridges the fictional elements of different eras and narrative cinema with the authenticity of documentary style. The script, penned by filmmaker and artist Miranda July, underscores the campaign’s exploration of discussion and connection through language.

The campaign pushes the boundaries of observation by actively fostering dialogue. Sets of conversation cards, written by July, suggest topics for discussion among friends, transforming the campaign into an interactive experience. The accompanying short films, directed by Garret Bradley, feature July as an unseen presence, her voice guiding the conversations and revealing fragments of imagined narratives. This method of storytelling invites viewers to engage deeply with the content, imagining the full scope of these conversations.

Prada’s campaign imagery is characterized by its simplicity and directness, capturing innate human gestures and the impulse to connect, share opinions, and listen. The visuals emphasize collective dialogue, where individual interactions coalesce into a communal experience. This mirrors Prada’s belief in the power of human connection to create and innovate.
