Latin American Fashion Awards Spotlight Global Talent in Milan
Celebrating top Latin American talent, the Collective Exhibit at Fashion Hub Milano highlights the winners of the inaugural awards with global recognition
The Latin American Fashion Awards, founded by Constanza Etro and Silvia Argüello, made a mark during Milan Fashion Week with a Collective Exhibit at Fashion Hub Milano. Supported by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), the exhibit showcased the best Latin American talent, elevating them onto the global stage. This event followed the success of the first-ever Latin American Fashion Awards ceremony, shining a spotlight on the creative excellence emerging from the region.
The exhibit celebrated the achievements of the inaugural Latin American Fashion Awards winners, including high-profile figures like J. Balvin (Latin Icon of the Year), Willy Chavarria (Designer of the Year), and Luar (Brand of the Year). Other notable winners included Daniela Villegas (Accessories Brand of the Year), Desserto and Ecocitex (Responsible Project of the Year), and Verdi (Artisanal Project of the Year). The winners’ exceptional work and inspiring stories were central to the exhibit, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate their influence and creativity within the global fashion community.
Hosted by CNMI President Carlo Capasa and Milan’s Mayor Giuseppe Sala, the opening cocktail event brought together an illustrious group of fashion leaders, celebrities, influencers, and media. Models and award recipients such as Lineisy Montero, Hiandra Martínez, and Tomas Vera from Verdi were in attendance, adding to the evening’s celebratory atmosphere. The exhibit itself serves as a platform not only for recognition but also for networking and business opportunities, elevating the visibility of Latin American talent in the international fashion arena.
Fashion Hub Milano, where the exhibit is being held, is a prestigious initiative by CNMI that supports emerging and established brands from around the world. This venue allows the winners of the Latin American Fashion Awards to present their work in one of the most prominent settings in Milan. The Collective Exhibit, open until September 23rd at the Palazzo Giureconsulti, offers attendees a chance to engage with the designers’ work in an immersive environment, merging fashion, art, and culture.
The Latin American Fashion Awards is taking center stage this season, paving the way for the future growth of the winning designers and brands. As the global platform gains momentum, the second edition of the Awards, set for November 2025, promises to continue building on this success, providing Latin American creatives with the tools and exposure needed to thrive in the global fashion industry.
In addition to the exhibit, Latin American Fashion Awards will host a dedicated pavilion at the WHITE Show from September 19th to 22nd, allowing winners to present their collections to international buyers, media, and industry professionals. The exhibition space is enriched by the creative contributions of At Studio and sound curator Barbara Salazar, whose audio journey captures the diverse spirit of Latin America.
