Zalando, the leading European fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform, has revealed its latest brand positioning, marking a bold step in its evolution. The company’s Fall Winter 2024 campaign, “What Do I Wear?”, launched on September 8th, and reflects this new direction, which is centered around enhancing style confidence, embracing inclusivity, and providing inspiration for its customers. This rebranding effort underscores Zalando’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its shoppers, offering a blend of high-quality fashion, accessible content, and a revamped brand identity designed to inspire and engage.

New Brand Identity: Bold, Modern, and Accessible

At the core of Zalando’s rebranding is a refreshed visual identity. The updated branding includes a bold orange color scheme, a contemporary wordmark, and a custom-designed font that improves accessibility for users across platforms. These changes are intended to create a cohesive and engaging experience for customers, ensuring that the new look of Zalando is consistent from the first interaction online to the final stages of the shopping journey. This modernized visual identity is reflective of the company’s long-term goal: to become a leading European ecosystem for fashion and lifestyle.

Alongside these visual updates, Zalando has also introduced dynamic motion elements designed to enhance engagement, both in online spaces and in physical environments. These elements will be gradually implemented across all Zalando platforms over the coming months, ensuring a seamless integration of the new branding for shoppers.

Anne Pascual, Senior Vice President of Design, Marketing, and Content at Zalando, noted, “The changes we present today go beyond a mere visual update. Building on the strong brand equity and awareness that Zalando has developed over the years, we are evolving our brand to play a greater role in our customers’ lives. This evolution is all about style confidence and redefining how our customers connect with fashion and lifestyle. We are very excited to showcase this evolution with our new Fall Winter 2024 campaign, ‘What Do I Wear?‘”

Zalando Campaign: Inspiring Style Confidence for All

The Autumn/Winter 2024 campaign, “What Do I Wear?”, introduces Zalando’s new brand positioning to the public. Addressing a universal dilemma — deciding what to wear — the campaign connects with a broad audience, showcasing how Zalando simplifies fashion decisions and helps customers find their own style confidence. This message is driven home by a star-studded and diverse cast, which includes acclaimed actor Willem Dafoe, actress Brigitte Nielsen, model Luka Sabbat, and viral content creator Sabrina Bahsoon, also known as #TubeGirl. Their presence embodies the inclusivity and variety of Zalando’s offerings, ensuring that shoppers of all backgrounds and tastes feel represented.

The campaign highlights Zalando’s extensive range of fashion and lifestyle options, from everyday basics to trend-forward pieces. It serves as a reminder that fashion is for everyone, no matter their age, gender, or background. By offering a mix of high-quality products and tailored fashion inspiration, Zalando aims to make it easier for individuals to navigate the world of fashion, helping them express themselves confidently through their personal style.

A New Way to Explore Fashion: Zalando Stories

In line with its new positioning, Zalando is also enhancing the way customers explore fashion on its platform. A new feature within Zalando’s Stories section allows shoppers to discover fashion from the unique perspectives of their favorite icons and tastemakers. This feature provides exclusive content and curated selections from leading personalities in the fashion industry, such as Linda Tol, Jordan Anderson, and Herbert Hofmann. Initially rolled out in 11 markets with five different talents, the platform will continue to expand with new additions in the coming weeks, offering an ongoing stream of fresh inspiration.

This new Stories feature strengthens Zalando’s focus on storytelling, making fashion more accessible and personal for users. It reflects the company’s dedication to creating a community around style and empowering customers to feel confident in their fashion choices.

Zalando’s rebranding is a simple a visual update; but it also signals a deeper commitment to its customers by focusing on quality, lifestyle, and inspiration.
