Maluma launches ‘Remanence,’ a collection inspired by utility and aesthetics, with versatile pieces made for life on the move

Global Latin music superstar Maluma unveiled his new athletic-wear brand, Remanence, with a fashion show in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia. As the owner and creative director of the line, Maluma emphasized the importance of responsible practices, with all products designed entirely in Colombia using renewable energy and efficient production methods. The brand embodies living in the moment and unlocking one’s inner potential, aligning with the philosophy of harnessing latent energy.

The collection fuses activewear with casualwear, offering both comfort and style for everyday life. Combining aesthetics with functionality, Remanence reflects Maluma’s vision of clothing that transitions between activities. At the core of the collection are technological processes that elevate the quality of the garments, including jackets, pants, shorts, and accessories, each piece blending fashion-forward design with practicality.

Maluma partnered with designer Ana Villegas and consulting firm McKinsey to bring his creative vision to life. Speaking about the project, Maluma shared his personal connection with both fashion and music: “Fashion and music are tools to show the world who I am, they motivate me to keep going. It’s where I can truly express myself as Juan Luis.” The synergy between fashion and music, he added, will continue to inspire his work in both fields.

The debut collection, titled NEXIS, draws inspiration from the “gorpcore” trend, known for combining utility and aesthetics. Available globally online, the collection ranges from socks priced at $13 to parkas at $299. Designed with technological textiles, the pieces are ideal for both exercise and casual wear, reflecting versatility and timelessness.

The brand emphasizes self-expression and creativity through quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, empowering individuals to move with confidence and authenticity. The launch marks another milestone in Maluma’s expanding career, adding fashion entrepreneur to his list of accomplishments. Known for his massive influence in Latin music and beyond, the artist continues to push boundaries, blending artistry with business ventures.
