Marc Jacobs and Denim Tears Unveil Anniversary Tote Bag

Discover the 'TEARS' Tote Bag, blending Marc Jacobs’ design with Denim Tears’ cotton wreath in a tribute to the brand’s 40-year legacy.

Marc Jacobs has teamed up with Denim Tears for a special-edition release to mark the brand’s 40th anniversary. The collaboration introduces the “Tears” Tote Bag, a new creation that reflects both Marc Jacobs’ celebrated aesthetic and Denim Tears’ distinct symbolism. The tote features Denim Tears’ iconic cotton wreath motif, bringing together two unique creative visions in a piece that bridges the past and present.

For Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory, this partnership carries personal significance. Emory’s journey in the fashion industry began in 2006 when he worked in the stockroom of Marc Jacobs’ New York store. His connection with the brand deepened in 2010, when he relocated to London to join the Marc Jacobs Collection store. Now, years later, Emory returns as a creative partner, adding another chapter to his story with the house.

The “Tears” Tote Bag marks the ninth installment in Marc Jacobs’ year-long project, where collaborators reimagine signature pieces to honor the brand’s four-decade legacy. With each release, the brand invites friends and long-standing collaborators to offer fresh perspectives on its iconic designs.

The global campaign accompanying the launch brings together a vibrant cast, photographed by Eric Nelson and styled by Yohana Lebasi. Model Anok Yai and creative Bloody Osiris headline the campaign, embodying the collaboration’s spirit and the intersection of fashion and art.

This special-edition tote, symbolizing creative exchange and honoring Marc Jacobs’ heritage, continues to explore the ways fashion can reflect both individual and collective narratives. Through this partnership, Marc Jacobs and Denim Tears celebrate a shared history, offering a piece that pays homage to both their journeys.

With its symbolic cotton wreath and reinterpreted design, the “Tears” Tote Bag delivers more than an accessory—it serves as a tribute to Marc Jacobs’ milestone anniversary and Emory’s return to a pivotal fashion house where his career began.
