Songzio Joins Forces with DC Comics for an Exclusive Collaboration

A New Collection Inspired by Iconic DC Heroes and Villains Launches Globally on October 10

Songzio has announced its first collaboration with DC Comics, featuring iconic heroes and villains like Batman, Superman, and The Joker. This marks a new chapter for Songzio as the brand brings its artistic expertise to some of the most beloved comic characters of all time.

Known for collaborating with major international artists and studios, Songzio has previously worked with Disney, Warner Brothers, and Tim Burton, reinterpreting iconic imagery through its distinct design perspective. For this DC collaboration, Songzio draws inspiration from the original character designs, giving them a fresh spin that remains true to the essence of the source material while incorporating its unique creative approach.

The Songzio x DC collection brings together elements that represent the brand’s creative philosophy of “Order Disorder,” by balancing contrasting aesthetics. The heroes and villains, often representing opposing ideals, are translated into clothing that captures this duality. Original artworks by Songzio’s designer feature prominently, emphasizing the iconic nature of these characters while presenting them in an unconventional light.

The collection’s visuals are built upon ten original artworks, with a particular focus on Batman and The Joker, as well as other heroes and villains from the Justice League universe. Inspired by classic DC artwork before the blockbuster film era, these illustrations reflect the characters in their raw, primal form. The designs are applied to garments using Songzio’s renowned embroidery techniques, creating detailed and expressive pieces that stay true to the source material while offering a fresh interpretation.

The collaboration features a variety of men’s ready-to-wear items, including an MA-1 jumper, a varsity jacket, sweatshirts, and a knitwear collection. Technical detailing such as string elements inspired by Batman’s wings and rough-edged cuts inspired by The Joker are a key part of this line, adding character-specific elements that add dimension and creativity. The collection also makes use of patchworks representing various characters from the DC universe, adding visual depth and a narrative layer to each piece.

The color palette takes cues from the distinctive hues associated with the key characters—blue, red, and green, reflecting Batman, Superman, and The Joker. The collection will be available starting October 10, followed by the opening of Songzio’s first international flagship store in Paris, located at 10 Rue Charlot in the Marais district. The Paris flagship will serve as a showcase for Songzio’s expanding collections, including the women’s line set to launch in 2025.
