Praying’s SS25 Collection Is a Cynical Spin on Consumerism

Praying’s SS25 collection combines bold graphics with irony, offering a provocative critique on modern-day money obsessions.

For Spring Summer 2025, Praying returns with a collection that’s both biting and brutally honest, using its designs to explore modern society’s preoccupation with wealth, consumer culture, and societal expectations. Known for its bold, statement-making pieces, the brand infuses each garment with sardonic wit and social critique, reflecting today’s economic frustrations with a distinct sense of irony.

The collection is filled with graphic prints and slogans that expose our relationship with money and status. A tee declaring, “If I drop dead in Walmart, drag my body to Neiman Marcus,” humorously highlights the disparity between high-end retail and everyday consumerism. Other pieces echo this sentiment with phrases like “Whole day I’m f*cking busy only get few money” and “Nothing pays as good as unemployment feels.” Each message embodies a feeling of discontent with the grind of modern life, reminding us of the absurdity embedded in the pursuit of wealth.

Praying’s signature irony is present throughout, most notably in pieces like a tank top reading “2013 will be my year,” paired with matching shorts stamped with “This container carries a disease which has no cure.” Another tank reads, “I don’t feel good” in metallic lettering, underscoring the brand’s tendency to mix humor with a touch of existential dread.

Adding texture to the collection, Praying introduces heavyweight hoodies embellished with bedazzled details and Terry Sweats covered in bold, graphic statements. These pieces offer a tactile experience that complements the visual impact of the designs, ensuring the collection isn’t just a commentary but also a fashion statement.

Dropping November 8, Praying SS25 collection will be available on the brand’s webstore. With its sharp commentary on societal obsessions, this collection is a provocative addition for anyone looking to wear their cynicism on their sleeve—quite literally.
