BOSS has been announced as the Presenting Partner of the newly established Art Basel Awards, reinforcing its connection to the contemporary art world. Unlike traditional awards that recognize individual works, the Art Basel Awards highlight artistic practices and contributions that drive meaningful cultural impact.

Through this partnership, BOSS aims to celebrate artists and cultural figures who shape the future of art. The Art Basel Awards are designed to nurture a long-term ecosystem, ensuring that honorees become part of an alumni network that continues to inspire and influence the industry. By backing these initiatives, BOSS seeks to amplify innovation, collaboration, and visionary thinking across artistic disciplines.
HUGO BOSS has a longstanding tradition of engaging with the arts, fostering a dialogue between fashion and contemporary creative expression. CEO Daniel Grieder emphasized the brand’s deep-rooted connection to the arts, stating, “Fashion and art are deeply connected, and as a result, art is an integral part of our DNA. HUGO BOSS has a 30-year history of art sponsorship, and by supporting the Art Basel Awards with BOSS, we are taking our commitment to the next level.”

The Art Basel Awards span nine categories, with three honoring artists, Emerging, Established, and Iconic creators, while six recognize key players in the art world, including curators, museums, patrons, cross-disciplinary innovators, and media professionals. Overseen by Vincenzo de Bellis, Art Basel’s Director of Fairs and Exhibition Platforms, an international jury will select 36 Medalists across these categories. A unique peer-to-peer review process will then determine 12 Gold Medalists, six artists and six industry leaders, who exemplify the Awards’ vision.
Each recipient will receive tailored rewards, unlocking opportunities for exhibition, patronage, and new creative ventures. Emerging artists who win a Gold Medal will gain the opportunity to showcase their work at a major global institution, while Established winners will receive a high-profile commission for Art Basel. Iconic honorees will participate in a mentorship program, guiding the next generation of artistic talent.
The 36 Art Basel Medalists will be revealed in May, followed by a celebratory reception at Art Basel’s flagship fair in June in Basel, Switzerland. The 12 Gold Medalists will be honored at an exclusive event during Art Basel Miami Beach in December.
