Sportswear house Puma continues its collaboration with Japanese streetwear brand Liberaiders, unveiling a collection designed for exploration and movement. Expanding on their previous partnership, which reimagined the Suede silhouette with textured materials and refined details, the latest offering shifts focus to utility-driven design. Titled “Destination Unknown,” the collection introduces two versions of the Puma GV Special, alongside a selection of apparel and accessories that reinterpret military and outdoor influences.
The GV Special, a silhouette originally designed as a tennis shoe, is given a rugged transformation through the use of Cordura fabric, a material known for its abrasion resistance and durability. Each pair features a protective mudguard that wraps around the upper, reinforcing the structure for outdoor conditions. The shoes are presented in two distinct colorways, maintaining an understated yet functional aesthetic suited for a range of environments.
Liberaiders’ influence extends into the apparel lineup, incorporating practical elements inspired by military gear. The balaclava hoodie features contrasting panels along the arms and shoulders, blending performance with utilitarian design. Storage remains a priority, with ample pocket space integrated into the body of the garment.
The light jacket and pants continue this functional approach, offering a streamlined design with cargo pockets that provide additional storage without disrupting the silhouette. A graphic t-shirt and a minimalist logo t-shirt complete the selection, allowing for versatile layering options.
The collection also includes accessories built for everyday travel and adventure. A technical backpack with a rolltop closure offers adaptable storage, complemented by an external mesh pocket for quick-access essentials. The tactical bucket hat follows the same utilitarian theme, designed with functionality in mind while maintaining the understated styling that runs throughout the collection.
The campaign imagery presents an urban-to-nature narrative, following an individual transitioning from the structured environment of the city to open landscapes. This progression reflects the theme of self-guided discovery that Liberaiders consistently integrates into its designs.
