Salehe Bembury continues his partnership with New Balance by introducing the 991v2 “Colors Be The Palette.” First teased last August, the sneaker resurfaced earlier this year, generating excitement with leaked images and speculation surrounding its release. Now officially confirmed, the collaboration arrives with a striking mix of colors and materials that push the boundaries of sneaker design.

Bembury revealed the first glimpse of the 991v2 “Colors Be The Palette” during Copenhagen Fashion Week, where he also gifted select attendees pairs of his New Balance 530 “Prosperity Be the Prize.” The upcoming 991v2 draws attention with its purple suede upper, layered with rough suede overlays and a variety of contrasting tones. Blue appears on the tongue tag, where co-branding details in orange mark the collaboration. Green accents line the interior, while the off-white midsole and gray toe overlays balance the shoe’s eclectic composition. The “N” logo outline arrives in black, with a touch of lime green at the toe adding another dynamic element.
The sneaker’s construction brings together multiple textures, giving it a layered and dimensional look. The mixed-material upper combines deep purple suede with mesh underlays, creating depth while maintaining breathability. Gold, blue, orange, and green accents appear throughout, reinforcing the colorful theme. The two-tone midsole transitions from purple at the forefoot to beige and rose red around the ABZORB branding, adding another element of contrast. Custom packaging accompanies the release, incorporating Bembury’s signature design touches.
Bembury’s BeASpunge platform will host the first wave of releases on March 13 at 12 PM EST. Shortly after, New Balance is expected to roll out a global launch through select retailers. While the exact pricing remains unconfirmed, reports suggest a retail price of $250 USD.
