Santoni celebrates its 50th anniversary with Meraviglia – Makers of Beauty for 50 Years, an exhibition and tribute collection that honors the craftsmanship and vision that have defined the brand for half a century. Unveiled at Galleria Meravigli during Milan Fashion Week, the event serves as both a retrospective and a statement on the future of artisanal shoemaking.
The exhibition brings the craft of Santoni’s artisans into focus, presenting a photographic series by Jack Davison. His portraits capture the hands behind the craft, revealing the precision and skill that transform raw materials into refined footwear. Each image tells a story of experience – stitching, cutting, and finishing techniques passed down through generations. Rather than a static display, the exhibition invites viewers to witness the artistry behind the final product, emphasizing the relationship between maker and object.

At the heart of the exhibition, Objects of Marvel showcases the well-worn tools used in Santoni’s workshops. These instruments, shaped by years of use, reflect the patience and expertise required in traditional shoemaking. Displayed on a central table, they offer insight into the materials and methods that define Santoni’s approach, reinforcing the idea that luxury is built through skill, not excess.
Accompanying the exhibition, the Meraviglia collection introduces a selection of footwear for men and women, representing the brand’s most refined techniques and signature designs. The collection reflects Santoni’s focus on craftsmanship, material innovation, and artisanal finishing processes. For men, the range revisits classic lace-ups and loafers, featuring the signature double buckle and seamless Uniqua construction, which sculpts each shoe from a single piece of leather. The hand-applied Velatura technique, used to create deep, iridescent shades, is particularly evident in the Blu Meraviglia colorway.

The women’s collection presents an interplay of structure and softness, with loafers, pumps, and ankle boots crafted in rich textures and fluid silhouettes. Detailing is key – delicate piping, sculpted heels, and supple lambskin create a balance between practicality and refinement. The color palette introduces Oro Meraviglia, Bronzo Meraviglia, and Ebano Meraviglia, three luminous shades that enhance the depth of each design. Across the collection, a subtle metal crest acts as a nod to Santoni’s legacy, incorporated into select styles as a refined signature.
Marking the occasion, Santoni introduces Santoni Culture, a special emblem designed for the 50th anniversary. This symbol reflects the values that have guided the brand since its inception – respect for craftsmanship, a commitment to quality, and a belief that shoemaking is an evolving art form.
With Meraviglia – Makers of Beauty for 50 Years, Santoni takes a moment to honor its artisans, its techniques, and the time-honed skills that have defined its legacy.
