Drake ’s footwear partnership with Nike continues to evolve, but that hasn’t stopped the duo from revisiting one of their earliest joint sneaker projects. The NOCTA Glide, first launched in 2023, is making a return in a new “Black” colorway, offering fans a subtle take on the Zoom Flight 95-inspired silhouette. While past drops focused heavily on bold palettes and special releases like the EYBL edition, this latest version goes in a more understated direction.

The “Black” NOCTA Glide leans into tonal minimalism, pairing a black mesh upper with Iron Grey detailing throughout the midsole and support structures. University Gold adds a subtle jolt of contrast at the outsole, while a touch of silver appears at the heel lining, giving the shoe a low-key finish. Tonal NOCTA branding sits cleanly on the tongue, sockliner, and heel bubble, maintaining the signature identity of the line without overstatement.

Originally teased through early in-hand images, the NOCTA Glide appeared in a range of unreleased samples, but only three colorways saw a general release. Since then, NOCTA’s focus has pivoted toward newer models such as the Hot Step 2 and the Air Force 1 Low “Love You Forever,” leaving the Glide on pause, until now. This return signals renewed interest in the silhouette and offers something fresh for longtime followers of Drake’s Nike projects.

The visual balance between the dominant black tones and restrained color hits keeps the sneaker versatile, suitable for everyday wear while staying true to the performance-driven look that defined its initial release. Although neither Nike nor Drake have officially confirmed the exact release date, the NOCTA Glide “Black” is expected to land in Summer 2025.

The return of the Glide not only revives a fan-favorite silhouette but repositions it for a new season, stripped down, recalibrated, and ready for another run.
