La DoubleJ marked its tenth anniversary by opening the doors to the LDJ Starquarters, a new headquarters in the heart of Milan’s Naviglio District. More than just an office, the five-story building introduces a layered experience for employees, visitors, and the brand’s growing global Sisterhood. Each level features a specific purpose, from retail and rituals to product previews and spiritual activations. For founder J.J. Martin, the building represents a physical channel for La DoubleJ’s founding mission: raising energy through beauty, color, and shared experiences.

DESIGN

The experience begins in the “Joy Portal,” where visitors step into an in-house mural painted by artisans from Pictalab over eight days. The artwork wraps the entire entryway, ceiling to floor, in vivid color and symbolism. Flying scarabs, serpents, and surrealist plant life create a dense visual atmosphere that energizes guests as they arrive. J.J. Martin refers to this area as a reset point.

On the third floor, La DoubleJ unveils its first-ever public showroom. During Milan Design Week, anyone with a digital invitation can enter and explore the brand’s complete homeware collections. Seven full tableware and home décor families fill the space, along with a dedicated section for hand-blown Murano glassware by Salviati. The showroom also offers a sneak peek at “Fantastic Creatures,” an upcoming collaboration with Ecuadorian artist Beto Val. Previously accessible only to press and partners, the space now opens to La DoubleJ’s wider community.

On the building’s rooftop, the Galactic Deck delivers a dual-purpose setting. Inside, the glass-walled “High Vibration Manifestation” meeting room offers panoramic views of Milan. Outside, a plant-filled Zen garden creates a pocket for quiet reflection, journaling, and grounding. The centerpiece of this level is the Gong Temple, a new space built for sound healing, spiritual events, and community practice. The temple features a custom meteorite-encrusted gong crafted by Pauline Fabry, submerged in volcanic waters under the full moon before being fired near Mount Etna. A painted altar by JoAnn Tan surrounds the gong, complete with copper flowers and a Nucleus print rug.

Throughout Design Week, the Gong Temple hosts daily sound healing events, open to both employees and the public. Programming includes a cacao ceremony and transcendental gong session led by J.J. Martin and Fabry, as well as workshops with resident and visiting healers. These gatherings represent La DoubleJ’s ongoing investment in experiential wellness as part of its core brand identity.

Inside the showroom, the new Napoli Rosa collection debuts with updated tabletop pieces in a delicate blush colorway. J.J. Martin designed this version with summer weddings and soft layering in mind. From the Impero teapot to the disk placemats, the line builds visual rhythm through stacked pattern and tone. Napoli Blue and Wildbird families also return with expanded assortments that now include new 18K gold-trimmed porcelain and Como-woven table linens. Italian artisans from Signa contributed handwoven raffia placemats and coasters made using traditional techniques.

To coincide with the launch of Napoli Rosa, La DoubleJ opened a pop-up shop on the ground floor of the new headquarters. Designed entirely in the print and palette of the new collection, the retail space carries everything from porcelain to jewelry to J.J. Martin’s book Mamma Milano. Visitors can also shop Murano glassware, the new Raise Your Vibration candle, and a curated mix of accessories. A local tarot reader offers free love readings beside the Cabinet of Curiosities, while lemons wrapped in hand-written love notes greet guests at the entrance, a nod to the playful double meaning of “limonare” in Italian slang.

In addition to the activity at the Starquarters, La DoubleJ’s flagship store on Via Sant’Andrea features window installations by artist JoAnn Tan. Sculptural headdresses and suspended homeware pieces reflect the same joyful chaos found inside the headquarters. Together, these activations offer a full immersion into La DoubleJ’s design and ritual universe.
