Ja Morant’s third signature shoe with Nike, the Ja 3, enters the game with a sharper edge – designed to reflect how his play has evolved and where he’s headed. It’s fast, direct, and visually aggressive, tailored to meet the energy of a player who thrives in chaos and lives for momentum swings.
Unveiled on April 20 during the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Ja 3 serves as both a continuation and a break – furthering what the Ja 1 and Ja 2 started while pushing into new territory through design input straight from Morant himself.
Designed for Play Under Pressure
The Ja 3 was constructed for players who drive hard, jump without hesitation, and cut fast. A perforated mesh upper enhances ventilation, keeping feet cool as the game intensifies. The material flows directly into a translucent rubber cupsole, offering a clear view of the internal structure that powers it: a full-length ZoomX midsole layered with reclaimed ZoomX scraps. This mix keeps the shoe responsive without sacrificing stability during impact.
Grip Where It Matters
Nike built a new outsole pattern to support Ja’s quick shifts and sudden stops. Inspired by his trademark crossover, the traction system grips tightly at sharp angles. Whether bursting upcourt or pivoting under pressure, the outsole locks in movement and maintains control – key traits for players who operate in tight spaces and don’t pause to reset.
Built Around His Words
The shoe carries Morant’s presence in every detail. His vertical Swoosh and signature monogram wrap the upper in repetition, while custom text on each outsole amplifies his voice. One reads, “A happy Ja is a scary Ja.” The other, “I’m not even worried about proving them wrong.” His jersey number is split between both soles – “1” on the left, “2” on the right – anchoring each step to his identity.
A Direct Line to Morant
From day one, Morant asked for a shoe that would speak before he did. His brief to the Nike team: make it aggressive, unpredictable, loud. The Ja 3 answers that ask without compromise. Every element – from breathable mesh to elevated traction – is built around Ja’s playing style, down to how he switches tempo and reads the court in real time.
Fall Launch
The Nike Ja 3 will release globally in Fall 2025. The shoe will be released in a range of colorways, with each likely to continue the raw, expressive energy introduced with this model.
