LOEWE marks ten years of the Puzzle bag with the release of the Puzzle 10 collection, available from May 29 in select stores worldwide. Featuring 19 re-editions and one celebratory new design, the capsule presents a cross-section of LOEWE’s creative vision over the past decade. From surrealist cloud prints to hyper-graphic embroidery, the collection celebrates the Puzzle’s distinct geometric form and the many narratives it has carried since its debut on the Spring Summer 2015 women’s runway.

Each edition arrives in a special box embossed with a gold Anagram, complete with a collectible jigsaw puzzle, an object that nods both to the bag’s structure and its conceptual layering. Inside, the Puzzle bags reveal a range of approaches to craft, material and surface that have helped shape LOEWE’s recent design language.

The new addition to the collection, the Confetti Puzzle, introduces a densely textured surface made from thousands of leather and metallic sequins in shades of pastel, electric blue, silver, and pink. This design draws on LOEWE’s FW23 collaboration with Italian artist Lara Favaretto, whose confetti cube installation “Midsommar” inspired the tactile layering of the bag. The sequins, cut into tiny circles and diamonds, replace paper confetti with supple leather, offering a composition that feels festive yet highly technical. A deep midnight blue leather base and trim ground the surface in contrast, framing the color play with structure.

The Puzzle 10 re-editions spotlight LOEWE’s ability to reimagine a single shape through vastly different treatments. The FW15 Runway bag features camaieu suede in gradients of pinks, from fuchsia to salmon, assembled into a spectrum that moves across the bag’s panels. With its black suede base and trim, it sharpens the geometry while softening the tonal shift across its surface.
The Multicolour edition from Spring Summer 2017 brings primary hues into direct contrast, pairing red, yellow, blue, orange, and purple with stark black trim. In comparison, the Polka Puzzle reconfigures the bag’s graphic lines with a more romantic reference, using intarsia to place circular dots onto each panel, a nod to couture polka motifs and literary references such as Madame Bovary and Wuthering Heights.

Material variety defines many editions. The Patchwork Puzzle from Spring Summer 2018 incorporates cross-stitch panels, striped canvas, and leather with a visible “WELCOME” stitched into the strap. The Tartan edition, released for Fall Winter 2020, applies Scottish jacquard wool across mixed geometric panels, combining red, khaki, and navy check with leather piping.
Clouds appear as an all-over print on the 2017 Cloud Puzzle, where a floating sky wraps around the bag in a surreal effect, continued in campaign images by Steven Meisel. The Pixel Puzzle from Spring Summer 2023 uses glitch-inspired digital patterns, turning the bag into a pixelated object where pattern and shape deliberately misalign.

Several editions pay tribute to artists and historic figures. The Ken Price Puzzle reinterprets a Los Angeles cityscape in marquetry and print, layering palm trees and buildings across the bag’s surfaces in saturated blocks of color. The Joe Brainard Puzzle uses pansies as its central motif, combining white leather with vivid floral intarsia, while William De Morgan’s influence appears in a dandelion motif embroidered onto the bag in tribute to his ceramic work.
The Mackintosh edition pulls from the Scottish artist’s architectural details, with rose motifs fitted into the Puzzle’s trilateral pattern. William Morris, another Arts & Crafts figure, appears via floral and strawberry motifs paired with studded biker-inspired elements, creating a hybrid of utility and ornament.

LOEWE’s collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza also receives two re-editions. The Parrot Puzzle uses washed denim and canvas alongside a leather parrot motif in celebration of the boutique’s archival prints. The Kiwi Puzzle from 2021 simplifies the fruit into bold graphic color blocks, using layered and overstitched leather to mimic its texture.

Japan’s cultural influence appears in the Anime Puzzle from Spring Summer 2016, where manga-style rockets and metallic galaxy patches animate the bag’s surface. Textured leathers and airbrushed details build a futuristic tone that contrasts with the organic inspiration of other editions.
LOEWE’s Puzzle 10 collection operates as both retrospective and statement of creative intent. Each bag revisits a chapter in the bag’s evolution, marked by technique, collaboration, and a consistent pursuit of design experimentation.
