Nike introduces the Indigo Girl edition of the A’One, the first signature sneaker designed for two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson. Launching May 15 in adult and grade school sizing, the shoe arrives in a vibrant mix of Blue Fury, Racer Blue, Photo Blue, and Radiant Blue. It retails for $110 in adult sizes and $90 for GS.
The upper features a gradient design that moves from dark navy around the toe and side panels into lighter shades of blue at the center and collar. The Indigo Girl edition brings a soft yet vivid transition of tones across the shoe. A glossy metallic Swoosh sits across the sides, with similar shine continuing through the midsole, referencing the layered texture of pearls. The tongue, heel, and lace area also follow the lighter blue tone, framing the silhouette with contrast.
Designed for on-court versatility, these A’ja Wilson shoes use full-length Cushlon ST2 foam for responsiveness and comfort. An injected Phylon midsole enhances support, while a TPU frame provides structure and stability during high-intensity movement. The outsole features a generative traction pattern engineered for grip across all directions, crucial for Wilson’s two-way game. A raised bumper along the heel increases stability, and a midfoot band supports the arch during lateral cuts.
Mesh construction across the upper keeps the shoe lightweight and breathable. Despite its structured build, the A’One remains quick underfoot – balancing comfort and speed for extended play.
Signature elements include A’ja Wilson’s name stitched on the toecap and heel tab. Inside the tongue, embroidered symbols reference tattoos dedicated to her parents, adding a personal layer to the design. These details extend the story behind the sneaker without interrupting its performance intent.
The “Indigo Girl” colorway follows the debut of the A’One “Pink Aura,” which released earlier in May and quickly sold out. Two additional colorways – “White/Silver” and “Black/Hyper Pink” – are expected to follow later this summer, rounding out the launch season for Wilson’s debut signature model.
