Jordan line is preparing to release a new silhouette that shifts its sneaker DNA into more formal territory. The upcoming Air Jordan Loafer Mule reworks design cues from classic Jordan models into a backless, leather slip-on built for everyday wear. Set to release in Fall 2025, the model arrives first in a Black and Metallic Silver women’s-exclusive edition priced at $145.
The Air Jordan Loafer Mule features a black leather upper shaped like a traditional loafer but without a heel. The backless construction transforms the silhouette into a mule, offering a quick slip-on fit while maintaining a sleek visual profile. The upper includes loafer-style paneling with visible welt stitching across the forefoot. A polished silver badge engraved with the Air Jordan logo rests on the midfoot strap, while additional branding appears debossed into the cushioned insole.

This model introduces a multi-layered sole that bears resemblance to the tooling of the Air Jordan 3. The outsole pattern includes pivot circles and textured grooves, indicating a performance-inspired origin despite the shoe’s dress-forward appearance.
Although loafers are new territory for Jordan Brand, this isn’t the label’s first attempt to create formal-inspired footwear. In the early 2000s, the Jordan Two3 collection included moccasins, boots, and slip-ons, though it was short-lived and discontinued in 2003. Unlike that previous effort, the Air Jordan Mule takes cues from recent market shifts. Its design echoes elements found in popular styles like Prada’s Monolith loafer, particularly in the chunky outsole and the triangular metal branding.

Jordan’s new silhouette fits neatly into a growing movement in footwear design. Since New Balance ignited the sneaker-loafer trend in 2024, several brands including Hoka, Converse, and Mizuno have explored similar hybrids. The Air Jordan Loafer Mule arrives as Nike Inc.‘s response to that market shift, positioning itself as a fashion-forward alternative for Jordan fans who want formal wear options without abandoning the brand.
This release will be exclusive to women’s sizing, marking another step by Jordan Brand to expand its offerings for female consumers. With its easy slip-on build and a design that leans into dress shoe codes, the Air Jordan Loafer Mule caters to a growing demand for versatile shoes that move between casual and polished environments. The mule format also aligns with recent trends emphasizing convenience, comfort, and design clarity.

As of now, Nike has yet to confirm an exact release date, but the Black and Metallic Silver edition is expected to drop in Fall 2025. The retail price is set at $145, and the shoe will be available in women’s sizes.
