Alcova Miami is now open for its third chapter during Miami Art Week, welcoming visitors from December 2 to 7 at the Miami River Inn. The event returns to the historic 1908 hotel in East Little Havana, where pastel facades, timber structures, and dense tropical vegetation create a quiet pocket within the neighborhood.
DESIGN
Running daily from 11 am to 7 pm, the event features more than 40 exhibitors who activate the River Inn’s cluster of Victorian mansions. The original boarding house layout leads visitors through narrow corridors, shaded porches, and a sequence of intimate rooms. Each area hosts a project or site-specific installation developed for this edition. Participants include AB+AC Architects, Adrian Cruz Elements, Bellafonté Studio, Berto, Casa Ankan, Dace Sūna, Daiana Meligrana Studio, Daniel Elkayam (KAYAM), ERM Studio, Esto, Evan Fay Furniture, Franck Genser x Tonester, Gailaz, Giansanti Home x Gloria Melidoni, Haworth x Patricia Urquiola, Jensin Okunishi Studio, Juana Truffat, Laufen x Roberto Sironi, LCD Textile Edition, Marco Zelli, Marlot Baus, Monics+Vieira, MTR Studio, Objects of Common Interest, Ombia Studio, Palaty Gallery, Piccoli Smalti, Pininfarina x Alpha Additive, Room-File, SeamlessNote, Somad NYC x David Aliperti, Stephanie Lin / Present Forms, Strat Coffman, Studio Christine Kalia, Studio Mærz, Studio Sophie C., Terumi Saito, Undress House, and Vincent Laine.

The works examine material behavior through experimentation, production techniques, and shifts between analog processes and emerging technologies. Exhibitors study how material identity changes under pressure, temperature, and manipulation. Research-led installations invite visitors to observe how form develops through method and how technical exploration can generate new directions in design.
Patricia Urquiola and Haworth, the Main Partner of Alcova Miami 2025, introduce a gathering space within the River Inn’s oval courtyard. Their installation transforms the lawn into an open zone marked by a grid painted in Alcova’s signature pink. Exhibitors draw from Colombian Indigenous knowledge, Japanese methods tied to memory, and the Swiss textile industry. Additional works explore Italian techniques such as cloisonné enamel, earth-cast bronze, and Murano glass.
