Dongjoon Lim presents Post Archive Faction Fall Winter 2026 at Paris Fashion Week with a collection titled Drifter. The season frames drifting as a lived condition shaped by movement, uncertainty, and continuation. Lim positions the collection between past and future, where archives shift forward and new classics take form through time.
FALL WINTER 2026.27 MENSWEAR
The idea of drifting runs through the collection as both concept and personal reflection. Lim describes a sense of living without fixed origin or destination. He speaks of having no home and no roots, of following an unforeseeable current and choosing to move with it. The words suggest neither confusion nor detachment. They describe a condition that feels right, sustained by trust in movement itself. The collection reflects that mindset by resisting closure and allowing ideas to remain open, unresolved, and in progress.

Lim connects this outlook to his approach to work. He emphasizes effort, repetition, and continuity, stating that the team worked hard on the collection, as always. He continues to operate with what he calls a student’s mindset, which frames learning as an ongoing process. The collection carries that perspective forward. It does not position itself as a final form. It accepts distance ahead and acknowledges that development continues beyond this season.
Music enters the narrative through Lim’s relationship with classical composition. As a child, he resisted it. Early experiences shaped that reaction. Piano lessons began at six, enforced through obligation while his parents worked. At thirteen, failure to memorize ten classical pieces resulted in punishment. Those memories shaped a complicated response to classical music that later became part of Post Archive Faction’s language. The brand frequently uses classical compositions, precisely because they feel unexpected within its context.

This tension connects to Lim’s interest in creating a New Classic. He frames the history of clothing as the evolution of sportswear, noting that garments now labeled classic once emerged from practical needs tied to movement and activity. Through this lens, the archive never stands still. It shifts, adapts, and changes as it passes through time. What exists now as reference once existed as function.
The brand works with archives while acknowledging that it will become one. Lim states this directly. Post-Archive will turn into archive. New archives will follow, without end. The collection accepts that inevitability and treats it as part of the work. Drifter does not attempt to preserve or freeze meaning. It allows ideas to pass through time, change form, and remain in motion.
