As part of Berlin Fashion Week, German traditional label Marc Cain presented a unique and unforgettable fashion show on 30 January, combining fashion, music and staging in a highly individual way. Colourful, always wearable and often mysteriously sparkling looks were perfectly staged in a presentation that was both modern and emotionally touching. As always, the invitations were highly sought after, and several well-known names accepted the label’s invitation, including model icon and actress Jerry Hall, her daughter Elizabeth Jagger, also a model, and Hollywood actress Kelly Rutherford. Thus, the front row once again radiated star glamour this season. Many other prominent guests, such as Frauke and Nele Ludowig, Sylvie Meis, Gala González, Anja Kling, Bettina Zimmermann, Kim Feenstra, Dennenesch Zoudé and Anna Maria Sieklucka also did not want to miss this fashion show.

The show took place in the Great Recording Hall of Funkhaus Berlin, illuminated by LED rods and renowned for its exceptional acoustics. This hall was the perfect venue for “Echo of Now“, as the sound, space and atmosphere worked together wonderfully here. Music and fashion merged into a cultural symbiosis, making an impressive statement. It was precisely this interplay that contributed to an impressive overall picture. The show was opened by the vocal trio MVX, known from The Voice Kids Germany, who gave an impressive live performance of the hit song “Feeling Good“. Sung with an absolute tonal precision, this performance provided a beautiful, emotional start to the fashion show.

With Echo of Now, we wanted to capture the essence of the present: to bring the energy of the moment with music, movement and fashion into harmony and create designs that touch emotionally and leave a lasting impact. – Marinela Oglan, Creative Director of Marc Cain.
The special energy of the evening was also reflected in the looks: like a fresh start to the new season, the show kicked off with a number of looks in sophisticated cream white and grey nuances. Refined, elegant and versatile in their combinations. This light, airy colour palette perfectly matched the spirit of Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Cloud Dancer. Marc Cain interprets its traditional animal print in a new way this time: it creeps into the audience’s field of vision, graceful as a wild cat, in the form of wildcat-inspired prints on various creations. This soft, elegant appearance contrasts with the bold midnight blue of the venue’s floor. Gradually, the colour spectrum shifted towards warm, earthy tones that conveyed depth.

“I’ve attended a Marc Cain Fashion Show before, and it was simply unforgettable – so I’m even more excited to be here again. My look today, with the long, elegant floral dress and the cream-coloured coat, feels perfect for the occassion. Marc Cain truly knows how to combine elegance and modern style in such a unique way,” explained Hollywood actress Kelly Rutherford.
When looking at the materials for the coming season, it is striking that strong fabrics such as faux fur in bold, vibrant colours like orange convey nostalgic 70s vibes and also contribute to a high level of comfort. The colour palette is characterised by bold and maximalist inspiration: it is ranging from the most elegant shades of white and grey to soft pink and colourful combinations. Eye-popping nuances, such as orange, aubergine, pink, limoncello and grassy green are vividly mixed and matched together. A real dopamine boost on dark autumn and winter days.

The creations of “Echo of Now” are as untamed and freedom-loving as all the wild cat prints, from ocelot to cheetah, that can be found on the garments. They are complemented by trendy paisley creations. With this collection, it is particularly worthwile to take a closer look at the accessories: they include a wide variety, such as Jacky-O-style pillbox hats, ties, scarves, sunglasses and long gloves. Double-carried bags are also particularly eye-catching – here, over-accessorising is elevated to a special highlight and statement.
“I’m thrilled with this emerald green satin suit by Marc Cain. The material feels incredibly luxurious, drapes elegantly, and the colour radiates pure sophistication. The look is simply stunning. And Berlin is fantastic – the city has so much energy and style, I always love coming here,” said model icon and actress Jerry Hall.

It is also striking that old money aesthetics meet casual layering, and masculine tailoring with accentuated shoulders is creatively blended with feminine details such as brooches and bows. The finale, featuring several stunning looks in sparkling midnight blue, showcased some of the highlights of the Marc Cain Glam line.
The staging combined the concept of sound and rhythm: while various LED rods at different heights created balance, midnight blue carpets and the semi-circular setup structured the space. When the models stepped onto the 70-metre-long catwalk behind the glowing rods, the impressive scale of the hall was emphasised once again.
