Off-White Fall Winter 2026, “Mr. Davis,” looks to the cultural impact of Miles Davis and the disruptive energy that surrounded his music and personal style. Creative director Ib Kamara builds the collection around the influence of Davis’s 1970 album Bitches Brew, a work that expanded jazz through experimentation with rock, funk, and electronic sound.

FALL WINTER 2026

Kamara focuses on a moment in Davis’s life when the musician met Betty Davis. This encounter shifted both his creative output and his public image. Kamara reflects on the transformative influence a woman can have on a man’s creative direction and personal expression. During this period, Davis embraced experimentation in music and style.

Kamara encountered the Miles Davis archive during research for the project. The experience revealed the depth of Davis’s cultural influence and his confident sense of personal style. Kamara identifies parallels between Davis’s approach and the philosophy behind Off-White. Both operate along an unstable line where experimentation shapes identity. Davis expressed this through improvisation in music, while Off-White continues the approach established by Virgil Abloh through conceptual shifts that alter perception.

Menswear carries the experimental energy of the season through separates that reinterpret classic wardrobe pieces. Flared denim appears alongside knitted shirts and tailored vests. Jackets maintain structure while allowing a relaxed attitude influenced by street culture. Silhouettes move between sharp lines and slouched shapes. This range reflects Kamara’s interest in Davis’s personal style and the way it combined elegance with individuality. Materials appear treated and evolving, conveying the sense that garments exist in constant transformation.

Womenswear draws its inspiration from the confidence and independence associated with Betty Davis. Her fearless presence and ownership of her sexuality influence the character of the collection. Kamara approaches womenswear as a study of contrast expressed through form and texture. Elongated silhouettes define the body through strong shoulders and sculpted waists that create a vertical line.

Lace and transparent fabrics alter the surface of structured pieces. Polka dots appear as a recurring motif, referencing Miles Davis’s personal fascination with the pattern as well as Off-White’s Meteor code. Neutral tones ground the collection while brighter shades introduce intensity. Saturated red, acid blue, Kelly green, and vivid yellow appear across garments and create moments of visual impact.

Lace appears with nylon as a reference to Betty Davis’s stage wardrobe, which often incorporated lingerie elements. Dresses follow the body closely and create silhouettes that resemble a second skin. Movement appears through the natural fall of fabric across the figure. Hot pants and deep V-line cuts further emphasize the confident attitude that defines the womenswear offering.

Kamara introduces a perspective influenced by African cultural references while maintaining a connection to the American story surrounding Miles Davis. Music remains a central element within the Off-White universe. Kamara developed the show’s soundtrack in collaboration with Fabiana Palladino and Tendai to support the narrative of the collection. Off-White Fall Winter 2026 also introduces a capsule created with the Miles Davis Estate.
