Marine Serre and Under Armour introduce their debut capsule collection on June 5, opening a new chapter for the athletic brand during its 30th anniversary year. The project brings together Under Armour’s performance archive and Marine Serre’s precise design language, with the baselayer as the foundation. Inspired by 2000s sportswear, HeatGear, and the late-2000s UA Proto Speed sneaker, the collection treats movement as a shared language across sport, fashion, and the body.

SPORTSWEAR

Marine Serre brings a personal connection to the collaboration. Before building one of fashion’s most closely watched houses, she competed as a professional tennis player. That athletic background shapes her approach to design, giving the capsule a sense of discipline, control, and physical awareness.

The baselayer gives the project its clearest starting point. For Under Armour, the baselayer marks the product that began the brand’s story, engineered for athletes and refined through decades of performance research. For Marine Serre, the concept connects to the house’s Second Skin, the Moon-patterned layer that has become one of its most recognizable design codes.

“Sport has always been part of my life. With Under Armour, I wanted to explore the beauty of movement through pieces that combine performance, precision, and beauty – starting from the baselayer, the closest element to the body and to the athlete’s experience,” said Marine Serre, Founder and Creative Director.

The capsule uses a reduced design language built around lean lines, sharp black-and-white contrasts, and Under Armour HeatGear. The pieces carry the directness of performance clothing, while Marine Serre adds her graphic identity through a bespoke print.

The UA Proto Speed II returns from the archive for the first time since the late 2000s. Marine Serre and Under Armour keep the sneaker’s original athletic character while updating its surface and construction. The shoe features a layered textile base, sculptural leather paneling, and a silicone Under Armour x Marine Serre logo placed on the toe and vamp.

The collaboration frames performance through repetition, physical practice, and design intent. “Whether in training or in design, progress comes from deliberate repetition and purposeful execution,” said Yuron White, SVP, GM of Sportswear and Collabs at Under Armour. “Beginning with the baselayer felt instinctive. It’s where that process exists closest to the body – and where our two perspectives meet with clarity and authenticity.”

The limited-edition capsule launches first on Marine Serre website, at select Marine Serre retail locations, and through a Paris pop-up running from June 5 to 7. The temporary space sits on Rue de Turenne, 75003, and introduces the collection through an immersive setting. The global release follows later this summer on Under Armour website.
