A$AP Rocky and PUMA introduce the Straycat, an all-new sneaker that extends their motorsport-driven partnership with a tougher, more technical design. Rocky serves as Creative Director of PUMA x F1, and that role has shaped much of his work with the brand through racewear references, automotive graphics and footwear linked to motorsport culture.
SNEAKERS
Previous releases explored archival PUMA models including the Mostro and Inhale, while the recent PUMA Suede ’94 offered another take on one of the company’s established silhouettes. The Straycat marks a different direction. Instead of revisiting an existing model, Rocky and PUMA introduce a fresh sneaker built specifically for their collaborative universe.

The upper combines sturdy ripstop nylon, leather and suede, giving the shoe a layered and durable construction. A hardened mesh element wraps around the collar, adding another technical detail to the profile. Distressed PUMA Formstrips continue the worn, utilitarian aesthetic that has appeared throughout previous Rocky collections.
The sole becomes one of the Straycat’s most distinctive features. PUMA equips the sneaker with chunky Vibram outsoles that extend upward onto parts of the upper. The construction recalls elements seen on the Mostro while giving the Straycat a heavier appearance. The exaggerated rubber structure also adds grip and durability, creating a visual link to tires and the wider automotive references behind the collaboration.

Rocky adds another layer through an unusual double-lace system. In product imagery, two sets of laces sit across the upper, giving wearers another styling element while making the shoe appear even more technical.
Automotive references continue beyond the footwear itself. The Straycat arrives with custom packaging and a dust bag decorated with retro automobile graphics. The name also fits the project’s direction. Straycat signals a departure from the archival remakes that previously dominated the collaboration.

The new model arrives during the fourth year of the partnership, as Rocky increasingly works with core PUMA product while continuing to introduce his own design language. With the Straycat, familiar PUMA cues meet a more aggressive construction built around technical materials, thick rubber and automotive details.
The A$AP Rocky x PUMA Straycat is scheduled to release on August 27 through select international retailers, including Asphaltgold and SVD. A wider PUMA release in the United States has yet to receive confirmation for the same date.
