CFCL Spring Summer 2027 Explores the Art of Knitwear

Sculptural knitwear, translucent fabrics, and vivid colors define CFCL's latest collection.

CFCL presented its Spring Summer 2027 VOL.13 collection at Toguna, Palais de Tokyo, closing Paris Fashion Week with a study of knitwear, movement and the relationship between clothing and the body. Under the theme Knit-ware: Harmony, the collection explored how technical innovation can support emotional expression through organic silhouettes, lightweight materials and luminous colors.

SPRING SUMMER 2027

The runway setting introduced a surreal interpretation of a domestic interior. Chairs appeared to sink into the floor, while scattered fruit occupied the space. Korean DJ duo Salamanda provided a soundtrack of dreamy, pop-influenced electronic sounds. Against this setting, CFCL presented garments that responded to movement and light, extending the brand’s exploration of three-dimensional computer-aided knitting.

The collection focused on the possibilities of 3D knitting technology and recycled fibers, examining how clothing can accommodate the body’s natural movements. CFCL developed two principal design groups, Undulate Effect and Lucent Effect, each approaching volume and texture through different construction methods.

Undulate Effect drew inspiration from curved forms in architecture and everyday objects. Through computer-aided knitting, CFCL created dimensional draping that shifts as the wearer moves. Four designs use the same recycled polyester yarn, demonstrating how different silhouettes can emerge from a consistent material foundation.

The Gathered Pottery and Gathered Pottery Lucent designs revisited the brand’s signature Pottery series. Elastic threaded through the hems creates rounded balloon shapes that widen toward the bottom. Wearers can raise the elastic to the waist to adjust the garments’ length and proportions. Selected looks incorporate translucent yarn at the hem, introducing another surface texture.

The Asymmetry Overwrapped skirts feature outward-folded hems that create irregular draping and overlapping sections. Meanwhile, the Corded trousers use cords at the waist to gather their seamless knitted hems. The fabric responds to air and body movement, creating fluid volume as the wearer walks.

The second group, Lucent Effect, examined light entering through windows and filtering through lace curtains. CFCL combined translucent nylon and polyester-based materials with dyeing techniques and handwork to create four distinct designs.

Conic Lucent and Conic Ombre Lucent introduce expanding stripes through vivid color combinations. Their tubular bodices use fan-shaped knitted constructions, while gathered necklines shape the upper section. Gradient dyeing creates additional color variation in selected looks.

The Handkerchief Lucent series layers square panels with lace motifs diagonally across the body. Uneven dyeing introduces depth, while the Flapped Lucent designs use narrow knitted pieces that artisans thread individually through programmed openings. Several versions feature separately dyed panels that produce gradual color transitions.

For Flapped Enchant Lucent, CFCL folds rectangular lace-patterned sections diagonally and adds individually sewn sequins, allowing the surface to respond to changing light.

The presentation also introduced CFCL | Kalevala – Laine, a jewelry collaboration with Finnish brand Kalevala, founded in 1937. The name Laine, meaning wave, reflects the relationship with nature that informs the project and connects with CFCL’s Pottery series. The silver jewelry collection includes brooches, ear cuffs, earrings, necklaces and rings, drawing from the organic forms of Finnish modernism. The collaboration reflects both brands’ interest in creating functional objects that accompany everyday life.
