ANAIS JOURDEN unveiled her Fall Winter 2019.20 collection Le Café de la Surprise, on Tuesday March 5th, during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week.

This lavish and somewhat ironic venue becomes the stage of an unexpected waltz between times, revealing a stripped-down incarnation of the FW’19 Jourden woman. Driven by retrospection and affirmation, it is an hommage to the Jourden roots that muses on the transformative power of clothes while challenging a certain kind of high-society elegance. Its rendition of 90’s silhouettes reflects on a decade that sourced and subverted the past irreverently, offering a final synthesis of the century’s legacy. Symbols of female emancipation are cut up and and combined, like the 20’s biased-cut dresses and refurbished 80’s power suits that punctuate the designer’s vision.
