Beauty: 5 Best Tips for Longer, Stronger Hair

Keeping your long hair stronger and beautiful - here are 5 tips from DSCENE's Beauty editors:

1. Get the Right Vitamins

If you’re noticing lacklustre tresses, we recommended taking a vitamin supplement. Vitamins are an important part of our overall health, so it’s no surprise they contribute to your hair’s beauty. Growth and strength are supported by vitamins A, B-vitamin, and vitamin C. We don’t always get enough of these essential vitamins in our daily diet.

Supplements like for example tasty gummy hair vitamins are an easy way to ensure your locks get the nutrients they need to grow and stay healthy!

2. Don’t Quit the Caffeine

We probably don’t need to give you one more reason to start your day with a cup of coffee, but here is another reason anyway!

It has been found in several studies that caffeine promotes hair growth. Caffeine suppresses a hormone called DHT which can damage the follicles. You can get your caffeine from a cup of Joe or products that are infused with caffeine, which you can apply directly to your head. You get all the benefits of caffeine without the jitters helping your damaged hair!

3. Avoid Heat

It’s no secret that a lot of heat is harmful to hair. If your priority is the long-term health of your luscious locks, we recommend limiting the heat you use for drying and styling. Many products can protect your strands from heat damage. Apply these before using any heat tools like flat irons or curling irons. You can ask any hair stylist, even applying this before a quick blow-drying is best!

But when you can spare a day without heat tools, it’s best to take it! Reducing the amount of heat regularly used on your tresses may limit the daily styling possibilities, but your hair will love the break.

4. Be Gentle After Washing

Your hair is strongest when dry and weakest when wet. Don’t attack at its weakest moment! When you step out of the shower, you may be tempted to brush out the tangles. However, this isn’t a good idea. The roughness of brushing can hurt the strands.

Instead, be gentle when wet. The best is to brush your hair out before washing it. If it’s detangled before washing, there will be very few tangles left afterward!

Once all clean, you can use a wide-tooth comb to remove any remaining tangles. Avoid vigorously drying with a towel, and air dry if possible.

5. Cut Your Hair

Now, this may seem like the opposite of what you want for longer hair, but hear us out. When your hair grows and grows without trimming you’ll end up with split ends. Those split ends will keep growing, but thinner and weaker. For healthy, strong hair that looks as beautiful as it feels, experts from scissortec.com recommend getting a trim every 10 to 12 weeks.

Conclusion

If you want longer and stronger hair, you need it to be healthy — that’s what makes it beautiful. Take good care of your locks, and you’ll hardly recognize your hair after a few months.

By consuming the right vitamins, being gentle with brushing and heat, and getting regular trims, you can get the best hair you’ve ever had!
