With new sneakers being released on a regular basis, keeping up with the hottest and most recent Air Jordan release dates may be a challenging chore, even for experienced sneakerheads. Jordan Brand is expanding its 2022 lineup this April with the release of the popular Air Jordan 13 in a Navy colorway. Taking inspiration from the original colorway of the Air Jordan 13 Low, which was last launched in 2017, Jordan’s creatives have opted to make a high-top counterpart. Blue has always been a terrific color on the Jordan 13, and this latest edition is no exception.

Air Jordan 13 history

Tinker Hatfield, the world’s top sneaker designer, had been working on a new shoe for the greatest basketball player in the world for months back in 1996 and was getting nowhere. He then viewed Michael Jordan through a different perspective while watching the Chicago Bulls on television. On the court, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard was sculpted and sinewy. He was strong and instinctive. He was an expert at conserving energy. He’d strike at the perfect time and place. Jordan acted predatorily, reminding Tinker of a cat, particularly a black panther. On tracing paper, he drew his vision and the rest is history.

The Jordan 13s were the final Air Jordan sneaker to be launched while Michael Jordan was a member of the Chicago Bulls in 1997-98. The Air Jordan 13 was initially released in 1997 in seven colorways, five highs and two lows, and was followed by a slew of retros.

Air Jordan 13 Design

The Air Jordan 13’s sole is one of the most distinctive soles ever introduced in the Jordan line. It is designed after a panther’s paw, while the hologram on the ankle is based on their eyes. Hatfield’s ideas and inspirations excelled at sticking out while becoming generally translatable. In terms of technical design, the Air Jordan 13 pays homage to famous 90’s shoe design elements. A circular hologram is located around the heel of the Air Jordan 13. Close inspection reveals the number 23, a basketball, and the Jumpman logo. One disadvantage of holograms is that they might become fogged up over time. Also, the white soles will bleed with time, happens just about every time on the Original Air Jordan 13.

Air Jordan 13 Brave Blue Release

The Air Jordan13 ‘Navy’ is a sequel to the Air Jordan 13 Low Brave Blue, which debuted in 2017. Coming in a Navy, Black, White, and University Blue color scheme, this Air Jordan 13 will be identical to the low-top, with a reflective mesh upper, White pods, and a Black rubber outsole. The sneaker will be offered in complete family sizing and will come in special packaging.

The upper is made of a durable combination of leather and synthetics that will break in with wear and time. The Blue mesh upper is contrasted with Black on the tongue, toe, and mudguards. The distinctive Jumpman logo appears on the tongue, as does a white and black sole unit.

The Air Jordan 13 ‘Navy’ are reportedly scheduled to drop on April 29th, 2022. The sneaker will be available for $200 USD at select Jordan Brand retailers and on Nike’s official website. Early pairs are also available at GOAT and Fight Club right now. Take a look at more Air Jordan releases in our sneaker section.
