The rising K-pop girl group NewJeans secured five awards at the 2023 Melon Music Awards, held on December 2nd, at the state-of-the-art Inspire Arena on Incheon’s Yeongjong Island. NewJeans emerged as the biggest winners of the evening, dominating several major categories, including Artist of the Year and Best Song of the Year. In their acceptance speech, the members of NewJeans expressed their gratitude to their dedicated fanbase, lovingly referred to as “Bunnies.” They conveyed their deep appreciation for the awards and promised to continue evolving as artists, delivering even more exceptional performances in the future.

In addition to the top awards, NewJeans received recognition as the Best Group (Female). They were also among the esteemed winners of the Top 10 Artists and Millions Top 10 Albums awards. Their success didn’t stop at the Melon Music Awards. Just days prior, at the MAMA 2023 Awards, NewJeans clinched both the Artist of the Year and Song of the Year awards.

NewJeans came onto the K-pop scene in July 2022 under the ADOR music label, a subsidiary of the renowned Hybe Corporation. In a remarkably short period, they have become a household name, thanks to a string of hits including “Attention,” “Ditto,” “OMG,” “Hype Boy,” and “ETA.”
