Nike teams up with stylist and designer Veneda Carter to rework the Air Max Muse, creating a women’s sneaker that brings together athletic function and refined detail. This release gives Carter space to translate her approach into footwear, introducing a design that reflects both her personal style and her understanding of how women move through daily life.

Carter turns to the Air Max Muse as her starting point, a sneaker already known for its futuristic shape and lifted arch, built on the foundation of Nike Air technology. First introduced in December, the model uses computational design to create structure and comfort in equal measure. For this collaboration, Carter adds her own perspective, working with military green, white, and soft pink to create a palette that nods to practical outerwear while remaining wearable in multiple settings.

Inspired by rain gear and everyday utility pieces, Carter selects matte and rubberized materials that ground the shoe’s structure. Earth tones dominate the base, while sharp white paneling draws attention to the form of the sneaker. Reflective accents interrupt the softness with an edge, referencing her namesake jewelry line. Even the lace tips carry texture and metallic finish, details designed to connect the footwear directly to her full aesthetic language.

“I wanted my personality and energy to come through,” Carter says. “The Air Max Muse already has that mix of sport and edge, but I added softness, depth, and contrast. This is exactly the type of shoe I wear.”
Carter approaches styling as a fluid process, and she expects this sneaker to follow that thinking. “You can wear it to the gym, to dinner, to walk around town,” she adds. “It fits with so many moods.” Her colorway keeps the silhouette grounded while giving it a layered visual language that allows different elements to stand out depending on the setting.

The exaggerated shape of the Air Max Muse plays into this visibility. Its lifted arch and contoured lines invite attention, while the materials work in favor of wearability. This edition maintains the Air unit in the heel, a key design and comfort feature that keeps the sneaker anchored in Nike performance.
The rollout for the Nike x Veneda Carter Air Max Muse will span several release dates and locations. The first in-store drop lands at Naked Copenhagen on May 30. Carter will then release the shoe globally through her own platform, on June 23. A wider launch follows on July 17 through SNKRS and select retailers.
