Unveiled at Triennale Milano today, The Art Posters of Milano Cortina 2026 marks a powerful fusion of artistic expression and athletic inspiration. The exhibition, a collaborative project between Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and Triennale Milano, invites ten Italian artists under 40 to reimagine the Olympic and Paralympic Games through contemporary art. On view from June 19, 2025, through March 15, 2026, the exhibition launches the cultural journey toward the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Italy.

ART

The project builds on a tradition that began in 1972, where Olympic Art Posters have served as a visual legacy of the Games. These works have previously been interpreted by global figures like Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, and David Hockney. Now, a new generation of Italian artists continues this legacy, offering fresh, symbolic, and emotionally charged visions of what the Games represent.

The Olympic posters were created by Beatrice Alici, Martina Cassatella, Giorgia Garzilli, Maddalena Tesser, and Flaminia Veronesi. The Paralympic set features works by Roberto de Pinto, Andrea Fontanari, Aronne Pleuteri, Clara Woods, and Giulia Mangoni. Their contributions capture the energy, diversity, and shared humanity of sport, framed through dynamic palettes, contemporary techniques, and distinct personal styles.

Curated by Damiano Gullì, Triennale’s curator for contemporary art and public programming, the selection of artists reflects the institution’s commitment to advancing Italian visual culture. This initiative follows Triennale’s continued focus on Italian painting, most recently highlighted in the 2023 exhibition Pittura Italiana Oggi (Italian Painting Today).

The Art Posters are displayed in Triennale Milano’s newly renovated Piano Parco galleries, alongside the Olympic and Paralympic Torches of Milano Cortina 2026. The space becomes a symbolic stage for Italy’s dual commitment to cultural excellence and athletic innovation.

Domenico De Maio, Education & Cultural Director of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating: “The Art Posters initiative and our work with Triennale reflect a shared vision—creating inclusive projects that center artists and institutions while leaving a lasting legacy.” Triennale’s General Director Carla Morogallo echoed this sentiment, noting that the partnership has initiated a larger conversation on the values of sport through diverse creative disciplines.

Angelita Teo, Director of the Olympic Museum, further reinforced the significance of the project: “This new generation of young Italian artists continues a proud tradition. As custodians of the Olympic Games’ artistic heritage, we are proud to welcome these works into the official collection.”

The posters will be available for purchase at the Triennale bookshop and online through the official Milano Cortina 2026 channels. As the Games draw nearer, this initiative reaffirms the Olympic and Paralympic mission, not only to celebrate competition, but also to inspire global cultural dialogue through artistic freedom.
