Cartier announced today that Zoe Saldana has joined the maison as its newest global ambassador. The partnership formalizes a creative relationship that has developed over the past several years, marked by red carpet collaborations and some of Saldaña’s most memorable public appearances.
“I am honoured to become an ambassador for Cartier, following many years of warm collaboration,” Saldaña shared in the announcement. The maison’s global chief marketing officer described her as an icon of contemporary elegance, whose strength and personal style resonate with Cartier’s creative vision.
During the last awards season, Saldaña wore Cartier high jewelry at both the Golden Globes and the Oscars. In January, she appeared in the Melis set, an ensemble of yellow diamond pieces, while accepting the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Emilia Pérez. Two months later, she won the Oscar in the same category and arrived on the red carpet in the Panthères Versatiles, a transformable necklace featuring a 10.10-carat Zambian emerald from Cartier’s Nature Sauvage collection. Both appearances were among the most photographed of the season.
In 2023, Saldaña worked directly with Cartier on a custom design for the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. The bespoke piece, a chainmail cape crafted from 67,000 yellow gold links, was accented with faceted onyx drops, gold zippers, and 150 diamonds.
Zoe Saldana is also one of the most commercially successful actors in film history. She remains the only performer to appear in four separate films that have each grossed over $2 billion worldwide: Avatar (2009), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022).
She currently stars in Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount+, a spy thriller where she also serves as executive producer. Her return to James Cameron’s Avatar franchise continues with Avatar: Fire & Ash, scheduled for release in December 2025. Production has already begun on the fourth installment, with Michelle Yeoh and Sigourney Weaver among the returning cast, and a fifth film is slated for 2031. Industry reports also suggest Saldaña could return in a future Star Trek film, directed by J.J. Abrams.
