Stella McCartney brings the Elyse platform shoe back into focus with a new campaign led by Amelia Gray. First introduced on the Fall Winter 2014 runway, the Elyse quickly became a recognizable part of McCartney’s design catalog. Over the years, celebrities like Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Beyoncé have worn the shoe, reinforcing its presence in fashion circles. This new release updates the platform in both material and presentation, while staying aligned with McCartney’s plant-based and cruelty-free standards.

Amelia Gray takes on the role of campaign face, showcasing the Elyse through multiple facets of the Stella McCartney wardrobe. Styled in tailored pieces cut on Savile Row, lingerie, and activewear from the Stellawear line, Gray shows how the shoe moves across categories. McCartney’s casting and styling emphasize adaptability without requiring the shoe to change its shape or design language.

The capsule introduces four new finishes. Two tonal versions in grey and navy offer solid-color updates to the classic silhouette. These sit beside two high-texture finishes crafted from new materials. One features a snakeskin-inspired surface made from mycelium, a material grown from mushrooms. The other uses a croc-effect vegan leather made from upcycled apple waste. These textures add dimension to the design without relying on animal-based sources, staying true to the brand’s materials policy.

Stella McCartney’s long-held position on material sourcing continues through this collection. The Elyse still uses an FSC-certified wooden wedge, a saw-edged micro-sole, and glue that meets vegan standards. The brand does not use leather, feathers, fur, or skins, an approach it has maintained since launch. With the Elyse, that material discipline meets a design that has already proved its durability in the market.

This version of the Elyse also introduces a new feature. For a limited time, customers can personalize their shoes with brass charms. Available only at select Stella McCartney boutiques, the charms allow wearers to build a more individual version of the platform. This detail brings an additional layer of user input to a design that already resists fast turnover.

The new versions are now available through Stella McCartney’s website and in selected stores worldwide. While the design still features its recognizable components, the added finishes and charm options signal a new phase for the Elyse, more textured, more adaptable, and produced with an ongoing focus on responsible materials.
