Nike releases the Book 1 What The as a limited edition of 1,996 pairs, marking the closing release of Devin Booker’s debut signature model. The sneaker brings together materials, colors, and prints drawn from earlier Book 1 colorways, presenting a deliberately mismatched construction across the left and right shoes.

The left shoe features a yellow hairy suede toe box paired with a Safari-print overlay at the forefoot. A black Swoosh appears along the side panel, bordered by exposed stitching. Behind it, a bright crimson textile panel carries a topographic map pattern, adding graphic contrast within the layered upper.

The right shoe takes a different approach. A blue denim toe box anchors the front, joined by a green nubuck forefoot overlay finished with topographic-inspired stitching. Faux snakeskin covers the midfoot panel, introducing texture, while the padded collar uses a lenticular treatment that shifts through rainbow colors. A small tag attached to the lateral eyestay displays the shoe’s numbered edition, reinforcing the limited production run.
Both shoes sit on a unified sole setup under the Sail and Magic Ember color designation. Details at the heel reference earlier Book 1 releases, reinforcing the concept behind the “What The” execution. Each panel points back to a previous drop, creating a composite design that reflects the full range of the model’s first run.

Nike frames this release as the closing chapter of the Book 1 story. While the design looks back at what came before, heel details signal that this release represents the opening section of a larger narrative rather than a final endpoint.
