Alix of Bohemia debuted on the official CFDA Calendar on February 13, 2026, presenting its Fall Winter 2026 collection, titled Second Nature. Founder and designer Alix Pietrafesa marked the occasion with an intimate gallery exhibition that encouraged guests to engage closely with the garments. Editors, buyers, friends of the brand, and long-time collaborators gathered for an evening that reflected the label’s personal and instinct-driven approach.
FALL WINTER 2026 WOMENSWEAR
Second Nature explores a modern City Safari through the women of New York who treat personal style as instinct. Pietrafesa frames dressing as self-composition, a daily language through which identity and presence take form. The collection reflects confidence, independence, and curiosity shaped by lived experience. Elegance emerges through habit and character, integrated into everyday life.

A long-standing fascination with exotic animals informs the collection’s visual direction. Early obsessions evolved into a sustained relationship with animal print and pattern as tools of expression. In Fall Winter 2026, these references appear through hand-worked embroideries and layered prints. The motifs feel intuitive and integrated into the garments’ surfaces.
Preparation for adventure guides the season. Pietrafesa approaches design as preparation for travel, imagining where each garment will go and what it will witness. She envisions clothing that lives within a woman’s wardrobe over time. Each piece carries readiness for work, travel, and varied experiences.

Pietrafesa constructs surfaces through knitted wools, handloomed silks, handwoven wools, and soft tweeds finished with beaded appliqué. She works exclusively with natural fibers, selecting materials that breathe and soften with wear. Many garments feature ceramic buttons handmade by her mother, connecting the collection to family craft and personal history.
The mood draws from the fearless energy of the 1970s and icons such as Veruschka. Pietrafesa channels intuitive strength, shaping garments that balance refinement with instinct. Structure and freedom coexist within the silhouettes, allowing the clothing to feel composed while retaining ease.
With Second Nature, Alix of Bohemia presents a collection grounded in instinct, craft, and lived experience. The exhibition took place during New York Fashion Week.
