Prada presents its Re-Nylon 2026 campaign with actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Letitia Wright engaging directly with the ocean. The campaign connects to Prada Group’s SEA BEYOND project, which focuses on ocean preservation through education. This direction places environmental awareness within the visual and narrative structure of the campaign, linking fashion with ongoing educational efforts tied to marine ecosystems.
AD CAMPAIGNS
Prada develops the campaign through a series of documentary films created by National Geographic CreativeWorks. The collaboration continues for a fourth year, with Prada acting as storytelling partner. These films examine the real-world impact of the SEA BEYOND initiative across different regions. The project moves across multiple locations, including Oahu in Hawai’i and sites in Japan such as the Izu Peninsula and the city of Kamakura.
Cumberbatch and Wright appear within these coastal environments, connecting visual imagery with documentary content. The ocean remains a constant presence throughout the campaign. The ocean takes a central role, drawing focus to how human activity shapes marine life and ecosystems.
Benedict Cumberbatch leads the first episode, which focuses on the waters surrounding Japan’s Izu Peninsula. Located a short distance from Tokyo, this area supports a wide range of marine life. Ocean currents and geological conditions shape the underwater environment, creating a dynamic ecosystem with high biodiversity.

During the film, Cumberbatch meets Elisabetta Zavoli, a photojournalist and documentary photographer who also serves as a SEA BEYONDer and Goodwill Ambassador for the project. Zavoli shares insights into the region and introduces the work of Sakana-kun, a Japanese ichthyologist, professor, and artist. His program receives support from SEA BEYOND and focuses on education through direct engagement with marine life.

The Sakana-kun Exploration Team project works with elementary school students, offering hands-on activities, workshops, and educational sessions. These initiatives aim to build curiosity and encourage a stronger connection with the ocean from an early age.
Prada links the campaign to ongoing support for SEA BEYOND through its Re-Nylon for SEA BEYOND collection. Since July 2023, one percent of proceeds from this collection contributes directly to the initiative. The project operates in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, focusing on education and ocean literacy. Over time, SEA BEYOND has worked to expand awareness of sustainability and marine science among younger generations worldwide.
