Takashi Murakami expands his independent footwear brand Ohana Hatake with Full-Bloom Multicolor Collection II, introducing the signature silhouette in two new colorways. The latest release arrives in Turquoise/Green and Blue/Black, translating the artist’s recognizable flower motif into a layered multicolor design inspired by his flower plush pillows.
SHOES
The second Full-Bloom Multicolor collection continues Ohana Hatake’s focus on footwear that moves between domestic comfort and everyday street use. Murakami launched the label around a contemporary interpretation of slippers introduced to Japan during the Meiji era, connecting that history with current Japanese street aesthetics. The updated model keeps the original concept intact while refining its structure and fit.

Ohana Hatake constructs the new silhouette from lightweight EVA foam designed to feel softer while maintaining durability. An adjusted strap and revised toe shape improve comfort, while the outsole introduces a traction-focused pattern for greater stability. The water-friendly material also makes the shoes easy to clean, supporting use across indoor settings, city streets, holidays, and warmer weather.
Murakami’s flower motif defines the upper, with multiple colors arranged across the petals and central face. The Turquoise/Green version uses a bright aquatic base with vivid accents, while the Blue/Black edition brings a darker foundation to the same graphic form. Both options retain the playful character associated with Murakami’s art while giving the footwear a distinct visual identity.
The accompanying campaign draws from spring flowers and places the shoes within a fresh floral setting. This presentation connects the product directly to the natural references behind Murakami’s recurring imagery, while the saturated palette keeps the focus on the footwear. The styling supports the collection’s seasonal character without distracting from the sculptural form of the shoe.

Ohana Hatake sits between art merchandise, streetwear, and functional footwear. Murakami approaches the label as its own independent project, giving familiar visual codes a practical format designed for regular use. Full-Bloom Multicolor Collection II develops that direction through technical adjustments and new color combinations, showing how the flower can move from canvas, sculpture, and plush objects into a wearable product.
The collection also reflects a wider shift toward molded footwear designed for flexibility across different environments. Ohana Hatake gives that category a highly recognizable identity through Murakami’s iconography, using the flower as both structure and decoration. The result remains closely connected to his artistic practice while operating as a standalone footwear design.
Full-Bloom Multicolor Collection II launches in Turquoise/Green and Blue/Black on June 10, 2026, at 9 AM PST through the Ohana Hatake website. Each pair retails for $130.
