Nike is preparing to release the Zoom Vomero 5 Cordura “Camo Green” for Holiday 2026, introducing a more durable construction to one of its most recognizable lifestyle sneakers. The upcoming edition appears to mark the model’s first use of Cordura, a technical fabric known for its resistance to abrasion. Nike maintains the familiar design of the Vomero 5 while adapting its materials for colder weather, offering an updated version of the runner with additional protection against everyday wear.

The central change comes through the upper, where Cordura replaces the materials typically associated with the sneaker’s lightweight construction. Manufacturers commonly use the high-tenacity nylon textile in military equipment, backpacks and workwear because of its durability. Its application to the Vomero 5 introduces greater resilience and insulation while preserving the model’s established structure. The shoe retains its layered overlays, sculpted midsole and recognizable proportions, keeping the original silhouette intact.

Nike develops the new edition around an earthy color palette that supports its utilitarian direction. Camo Green and Neutral Olive cover much of the upper, establishing a muted appearance across the layered construction. Anthracite and Black complete the official color combination, introducing darker sections that complement the green tones. The selection draws from colors commonly associated with outdoor equipment and functional clothing.
Orange details introduce the main visual accents. Nike applies the brighter shade to the eyelets and embroidered branding, creating small areas of color across the otherwise subdued design. These details bring definition to the upper and draw attention to specific elements of the shoe’s construction. The overall design maintains a practical appearance through its material selection and restrained color arrangement.

The Cordura edition also expands Nike’s existing range of Vomero 5 options for colder months. Toward the end of 2024, the company introduced the Zoom Vomero 5 Roam, a more substantial adaptation that addressed weather protection through several structural changes. That version incorporated nylon base layers, rubber foxing around the shoe and increased traction, giving the original runner a considerably different appearance.
The upcoming Cordura version takes a simpler approach. Nike introduces a tougher textile while maintaining the standard Vomero 5 configuration, including the overlays and midsole that define the model. This material-focused update provides another option within the range, particularly for those who prefer the proportions of the original sneaker.

The Zoom Vomero 5 originally entered Nike’s footwear lineup as a performance running shoe during the late 2000s. Its subsequent return as a lifestyle model brought renewed attention to its technical appearance and layered construction. The sneaker became a recognizable part of the popularity surrounding mesh runners, with Nike continuing to explore new colors and material treatments for everyday wear.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Cordura “Camo Green” is expected to arrive during Holiday 2026. The release introduces a new material option for the sneaker as Nike continues to develop the model beyond its original running applications.
