PUMA has introduced a newly renovated basketball court at Vračar Plateau in Belgrade, marking its reopening with a Hoops 3×3 tournament on October 17, 2026. The project gives one of the neighborhood’s popular basketball locations a new appearance, combining local architectural references with the visual identity of PUMA Hoops. Six teenage teams participated in the opening tournament, followed by a special match featuring figures from Serbia’s basketball, music, and entertainment scenes.

The renovation forms part of PUMA’s effort to support local basketball culture and provide younger generations with a dedicated space for playing and developing their skills. Through the redesign, the brand connects its basketball identity with a location that already holds significance for the Vračar community.

Local artist Lena Jankov developed the court’s graphic design, drawing inspiration from recognizable Belgrade landmarks and traditional Serbian decorative patterns. Her artwork incorporates references to the Temple of Saint Sava, the Genex Tower, Avala Tower, and Belgrade’s residential blocks.
The composition takes inspiration from traditional Serbian kilim patterns, translating familiar architectural forms into a contemporary graphic treatment. The design connects the surrounding neighborhood with other parts of the city, bringing elements of Belgrade’s architectural identity directly onto the playing surface.

The renovation also addresses the court’s physical condition. The project uses Mapei paints developed for asphalt sports surfaces, giving the artwork additional protection while supporting its durability. These materials help preserve the graphic design as the court continues to accommodate regular basketball activity.
The opening event brought competitive basketball back to the court, with six teenage teams participating in a series of 3×3 matches. Players competed for every possession throughout the tournament, maintaining a fast pace as spectators followed the games from the sidelines.
The event concluded with a special exhibition match between PUMA Hoops and PUMA Suede, bringing together basketball talent and recognizable personalities from Serbia’s entertainment scene.

The PUMA Hoops lineup featured Nemanja Blažić Tricky, Bigru, Miloš Petrović Trojpec, and Baci 5. Their opponents, representing PUMA Suede, included professional basketball player Archie Goodwin, alongside Čiča, Miksa, and Lucky Luke.
Both teams approached the match competitively, exchanging quick attacks and assists throughout the game. PUMA Suede maintained its momentum as the Hoops lineup searched for opportunities to change the result. The contest continued until the final moments, with PUMA Suede securing the victory. The exhibition match brought together different generations and backgrounds through basketball, adding a competitive conclusion to the court’s reopening program.

The renovated Vračar Plateau court now offers local players a refreshed setting for training, informal games, and future competitions. With its Belgrade-inspired artwork and restored playing surface, the project gives the neighborhood a renewed basketball destination while maintaining the court’s role within the local community.
