Jordan Brand draws from one of Space Jam’s key props for the women’s Air Jordan 11 Magic Ball. In the 1996 film, the Monstars use a glowing basketball to capture the abilities of NBA players. The sneaker translates that effect into an iridescent finish that changes color as light hits the upper from different angles. The release forms part of Jordan Brand’s collection for the film’s 30th anniversary.
SNEAKERS
Smooth synthetic leather covers the upper and wraps around the forefoot in the Air Jordan 11’s signature curved mudguard. The iridescent finish shifts among four colors depending on the light and viewing angle, a first for the model. The official colorway is Light British Tan, Metallic Silver, and Off Noir.
Black laces and a matching midsole frame the iridescent panels. A bronze-toned Jumpman marks the outer ankle, while a stitched 23 appears at the heel. Beneath the dark midsole, a translucent blue rubber outsole carries herringbone traction pods. The outsole retains the familiar blue tint seen on other Air Jordan 11 releases, while the synthetic leather gives the upper its own character.
The shoe retains the Air Jordan 11’s full-length Nike Air cushioning, which absorbs impact beneath the foot. A foam midsole houses the cushioning, and a shank adds stability through the midfoot. The smooth synthetic leather also provides durability, giving the material a practical role alongside the finish that distinguishes this edition.
The film reference extends to the insoles, which carry a Space Jam 30th-anniversary graphic. The box features artwork from the film and an image of the Magic Ball that changes color depending on the viewing angle. The packaging repeats the visual effect of the upper and makes the connection to the original prop explicit.
The anniversary collection gives each of its Air Jordan 11 designs a distinct reference. The Retro OG revisits the pair Michael Jordan wore in the film, with royal blue accents and a “Jumpman Jam” tongue label. The “Green Screen” edition takes its color from the production technique that placed Jordan alongside the animated cast. “Magic Ball” draws its design from an object within the story.
The Air Jordan 11 Magic Ball releases in women’s sizing on November 11, 2026, through Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers. Pairs retail for $235 and carry SKU IZ1800-200.
